    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong service life by connecting a layer 1 monitor circuit to a digital line so as to make intermitted operation and activating a layer 2 processing circuit when a signal is detected on a line thereby reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: A battery 37 supplies power to a layer 1 monitor circuit 23 intermittently and the circuit 23 confirms the presence of a signal on a line. When a signal S1 making a call from a center to a meter 15 and the circuit 23 detects the signal S1 at a prescribed time, a layer 2 processing circuit 27 is arisen to interrupt power supply to the circuit 23 and the battery 37 supplies power to a monitor circuit 25. Then the circuit 25 compares a voltage resulting from dividing a voltage of the signal S1 by resistors 43, 45 with a reference voltage at a comparator 49 and when the divided voltage is the reference voltage or over, the signal is fed to a CPU 29. Then the CPU 29 regards there is a margin in the supplied power and discriminates local feeding to be available. The local feeding is tused and power is supplied to each circuit in an I-NCU to reduce the load of the battery 37.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a portable terminal device which can surely input and is easy for user to use by equipping the device with a keyboard which is normally folded and expanded at the time of use. CONSTITUTION: A keyboard part 7 is normally covered with a cover, which is opened at the time of use. A liquid crystal display part 3 is provided on the internal surface of the cover. The keyboard 7 is made of polyvinyl chloride, etc., and a folding type, which is folded, for example, sixfoldly. To expand the keyboard 7, air is blown in the air charging hole 9 of the keyboard part 7 with an attached portable cylinder or by mouth. Consequently, the keyboard part 7 expands almost to the size for normal use and the respective keys 11 projects by the charging of the air. A pressure sensing element 13 is provided at the bottom part of each key 11 and the air is charged in the key 11. When the key 11 is pressed, the pressure sensing element 13 detects an increase in the pressure in the key 11 to detect the key 11 being pressed.

    • PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity of a built-in battery and to attain miniaturization and long service life by converting a signal transmitted from an alarm into prescribed voltage and using the voltage as a power supply for a transmitting part. CONSTITUTION: At the time of detecting gas leakage or the like, an alarm 1 transmits an alarm signal to a transmitter 3. At normal (monitoring) time, the alarm 1 transmits a 6V voltage signal to the transmitter 3, but at the time of detecting gas leakage or the like, transmits a 12V voltage signal to the transmitter 3. A step down converter 5 converts the signal sent from the alarm 1 into 3V voltage e.g. and always supplies the converted voltage to a transmitting part 7 as power supply voltage. A signal detecting circuit 9 detects an alarm signal sent from the alarm 1 and transmits the detected result to a telegraphic message information setting circuit 11. The circuit 11 prepares a telegraphic message for transmitting the generation of an abnormal state (gas leakage) and a modulating/sending circuit 13 modulates the message and sends an alarm signal from an antenna 15 as a radio wave.

    • PURPOSE: To close a cutoff valve inside an automatically read meter even when a telephone circuit is cutoff by incorporating a response circuit on a radio salve unit side and a cutoff valve closing circuit for transmitting cutoff valve closing signals by radio and shutting off an object meter on the radio cutoff device side. CONSTITUTION: The response circuit 10 is incorporated on the side of a radio slave unit 5 and the cutoff valve closing circuit 15 for transmitting radio cutoff valve closing signals and shutting off the object meter is provided on the side of the radio cutoff device 7. Then, an operator uses the radio cutoff device 7 and transmits a simultaneous calling ID and a cutoff object meter company number known beforehand. The response circuit 10 which receives the simultaneous calling ID and the meter company number returns its own radio slave unit ID when its own meter company number matches with the transmitted meter company number. The radio cutoff device 7 receives the ID returned from the cutoff object meter and displays it on a display window 14 and the operator inputs the ID and the meter company number to the cutoff valve closing circuit 15 by using input keys 17, pushes an operation key and closes the cutoff valve of the object meter.
