    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning material provided with an automatic air supply/exhaust function not requiring a pump for air supply/exhaust and a simple structure despite the use of air. SOLUTION: The cushioning material is provided with air bags 2 tightly closed except air supply/exhaust openings 2a and a first elastic member 3 and a second elastic member 4 adding restoring force to the air bags 2 when the air bags 2 are pressed. On one hand, when the air bags 2 are pressed by a load, air inside the air bags 2 is exhausted outside via the openings 2a. On the other hand, when the load is decreased, the first member 3 and the second member 4 tend to restore original configurations to inflate the air bags 2. At this moment air is sucked from the openings 2a. The cushioning material 1, even consisting of the structure without the pump, allows not only the elasticity of the restoring force adding members but the elasticity through the air pressure sucked inside the air bags 2 to function.
