    • The present invention relates to a medium discrimination apparatus and a discrimination method thereof. The present invention is configured such that a first magnetic sensor (110a) and a second magnetic sensor (110b) sense the magnetic component printed at a predetermined portion of paper money when the paper money is introduced through a paper money inlet unit, and transmit analog signals for the sensed magnetic component to a first amplifying/band-pass filter (120a) and a second amplifying/band-pass filter (120b), respectively. Subsequently, the first and second amplifying/band-pass filters (120a, 120b) receive the analog signals, amplify the received signals, and filter noise contained in the amplified analog signals. A differential AD (Analog-to-Digital) converter (130) performs a subtraction function based on the filtered two analog signals, and converts the analog signals into a digital signal. As a result, a single digital signal can be obtained, in which most of the noise is cancelled. A control unit (140) reads the thus-obtained digital signal to discriminate if the introduced paper money is genuine or counterfeit. Here, the time taken to carry out an operation can be shortened because the control unit (140) reads the single digital signal. Accordingly, the present invention has advantages of improving the ability of discriminating paper money and shortening the time taken for said discrimination.

    • The present invention relates to a media separating apparatus for an automatic media dispenser. In the present invention, a pickup bracket (34) is installed, allowed to rotate, and is pushed by a push plate (32) that pushes the media stored in the media box (30). In the pickup bracket (34), a pickup roller (38) which picks up and transfers the media, is installed and allowed to rotate. A skew sensing sensor (80) senses the skew of media that are picked up by the pickup roller (38). The media picked up by the pickup roller (38) is sorted piece by piece by a feed roller (50) and a contra roller (60). Additionally, the present invention includes an interlocking means which turns the pickup bracket (34) from the push plate (32) outwards by the rotation of feed roller shaft (50') which is equipped with a feed roller (50) which is rotated backward as the skew of media is sensed. The invention prevents paper jams by preventing folding or crumbling of the end portion of media when a skew is sensed, and the media is transferred backwards and pulled into the media box.

    • The present invention relates to a media skew adjusting apparatus of an automatic media dispenser. In the present invention, coupling gears that are the last gears of a power transmission unit are mounted to both ends of an interlocking rotational shaft, which has both the ends rotatably supported on frame plates. The power transmission unit serves to transmit driving force of a driving source. First and second clutches are provided to be coupled to the coupling gears, wherein the clutches selectively transmit the driving force of the driving source. First and second driving shafts are rotatably installed to the frame plates together with the first and second clutches, respectively. Feed rollers for conveying a medium are installed on the driving shafts, respectively. Idle rollers are installed in correspondence to the feed rollers, respectively. In the meantime, brake assemblies are further employed for more accurately controlling the rotations of the feed rollers. According to the present invention, there is an advantage in that it is possible to securely adjust skew of a medium to thereby enhance the operational performance of the automatic media dispenser.

    • The present invention relates to a media stacking apparatus of an automatic media dispenser, wherein a stacking plate (34) is movably installed in a stacking space (32) which is formed between mounting frames (30), media are stacked on the stacking plate (34), and a diverter (40) is rotated in both directions by a driving source and determines a transferring path of the media inserted through an entrance (36). In addition, the invention comprises a pressurizing member (66) which is rotated by receiving power from the driving source, and pressurizes abnormally-stacked media so that the pressurized media may smoothly be stacked on the stacking plate (34). Thus, according to the present invention, when an abnormal medium is inserted, the pressurizing member presses the upper side of the medium whereby the medium is stably stacked on the stacking plate. Accordingly, the invention is capable of preventing a jam between the medium and another medium which is injected later. Further, since the diverter and the pressurizing member are driven with the one driving source, the number of components is reduced.

    • The present invention relates to a media stacking apparatus for an automatic media dispenser. The apparatus of the present invention comprises: a roller plate (22) for stacking media by means of the power from a driving source; a power receiving unit (40) for receiving power, engaged with a clutch gear unit (30), said clutch gear unit rotating with the power received from the driving source, wherein the power receiving unit receives power from the clutch gear unit (30) and moves the roller plate (22); and a resilient member (37) for providing resilient force in the direction of the coupling of the clutch gear unit (30) and the power receiving unit (40). When a force from an external source is applied to the roller plate (22), the clutch gear unit (30) of the present invention rotates in the direction of disengagement from the power receiving unit (40) by means of the repulsive force generated in the direction opposite the resilient force, in order to cut off the transmission of power. As described above, the present invention prevents power from being transmitted to the roller plate (22) when a force from an external source is applied, thus preventing gears interposed between a driving motor and the roller plate (22) from being damaged by a force from an external source.
