摘要： This invention is a hip and ridge liner for a roof on a building. It is a waterproof and weather proof barrier that is installed on top of a hip line or a ridge line on a roof. Hip and ridge shingles are then installed on top of the hip and ridge liner. Embodiments of this invention include a plurality of external tabs which function to securely retain the hip and ridge shingles and keep them in place for many years. Other embodiments of this invention include a plurality of internal tabs which function to securely retain the hip and ridge shingles and keep them in place for many years. Other embodiments of this invention include a plurality of shingle retaining clips which function to securely retain the hip and ridge shingles and keep them in place for many years.

摘要： A ridge structure at a roof edge, having a base panel lying on a roof surface and a hollow ridge structure over the base panel. The hollow ridge structure is constructed in a flat spring form along the eaves, and therefore one slope of the ridge faces the roof and the other slope the opposite direction. The slope facing the roof can be lifted to receive and secure roofing materials between the slope and the base panel. When water flows down the roof surface, most water flows over the ridge structure and the rest flows into the hollow space inside the ridge structure and drains through drain holes on the base panel.

摘要： A cantilevered leaf spring is biased against the upper edge of a roofing tile to prevent the tile from sliding upward beneath an overlying upper row of roofing tiles. The leaf spring can be formed as a part of a tile fastener which includes a hooked portion for receiving and holding the lower edge of a roofing tile on a roof. A series of tile fasteners is mounted to a layer of roofing material to facilitate installation of tiles without the need for installation tools. Damaged tiles can be easily replaced without the need for installation or removal tools. With this system, each row of underlying tiles is locked in place by the combined effect of an overlying and overlapping row of tiles and a spring awl on an upper fastener pushing the upper edge of a tile downwardly so that the lower edge of the tile is forced into the mouth of a lower fastener.

The hooks are formed with a profile that engages and presses on underlying tiles and that grips and hooks around the lower edge of an overlying tile. Each tile is positioned and held laterally between a pair of hooks and held vertically on the slope of a roof by a single hook. An improved weatherproofing system includes a second layer of water resistive material which protects an underlying layer of plastic weatherproofing material against exposure to sunlight and erosion from wind and rain.

The long member has a hook on one end and the remaining end is adjacent to a first outward extending arm. The first outward extending arm is adjacent to a central connecting member. The central connecting member is adjacent a second outward extending arm. The second outward extending arm is adjacent to the short member. The first and second outward extending arms are removably secured to the battens. The slate roof is installed by positioning and attaching the battens to a roof deck. The hangers are then secured to the battens by squeezing the short member and long member together and inserting the first and second outward extending arms into the adjacent hanger holders on the batten.
