摘要： Disclosed are a composition including hydrophilic nanoparticles that have a monosaccharide-phosphate or a derivative thereof adhered to the surface thereof, a colloidal solution of the composition dispersed in water, and a magnetic resonance imaging contrast agent including the colloidal solution. According to the present invention, nanoparticles having biocompatibility and excellent water-dispersibility can be prepared by modifying the surface of inorganic nanoparticles. The prepared nanoparticles may be effectively used in a variety of applications including, for example, in vivo imaging applications such as an MRI contrast agent, nano-electronic convergence technologies such as a quantum dot light emitting device, biomedical applications such as hyperthermia, or the like. Moreover, compared to existing nanoparticles dispersed by a dispersion stabilizer known in the art, excellent dispersion stability and a relatively small hydrodynamic diameter may be attained.

摘要： A system is provided which includes nanoparticle conjugates configured to bind with a tumor cell, the nanoparticle conjugate comprising a nanoparticle, at least one targeting entity bound to the nanoparticle, and at least one shielding entity that shields at the at least one targeting entity, the nanoparticle, or both; a body-mountable device mounted on an external surface of a living body and configured to detect a tumor cell binding response signal transmitted through the external surface, wherein the tumor cell binding response signal is related to binding of the nanoparticle conjugates with one or more tumor cells; and a processor configured to non-invasively detect the one or more tumor cells based on the tumor cell response signal. Nanoparticle conjugates and methods for use for treating or imaging tumor cells are also provided.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for producing sub-micrometric particles, which comprises: mechanochemical treatment of homogeneous or heterogeneous magnetic materials until a mass which consists mostly of magnetic nanocrystal aggregates is obtained; selection of aggregates so that the nanocrystals have a Curie temperature within a predefined variation range; functionalization of the aggregates in order to obtain coating thereof with molecules of one or more of the following types of substances: substances for which the tumour cells have a particular metabolic avidity; substances having a biochemical affinity with the tumour cells; substances having an affinity with the acid microenvironment which surrounds the neoplastic cells. In addition to the method the following are claimed: the particles thus produced; their theranostic use which allows the in vivo execution, without interruption, of the diagnosis or monitoring step and the therapy step by means of magnetic hyperthermia of malignant neoplasms, including those localized in the so-called “sanctuary sites” such as the central nervous system and the testicle; an apparatus designed for this use.

摘要： Particles are provided for use in therapeutic and/or diagnostic procedures. The particles include poly[bis(trifluoroethoxy)phosphazene] and/or a derivatives thereof which may be present throughout the particles or within an outer coating of the particles. The particles can also include a core having a hydrogel formed from an acrylic-based polymer. Such particles may be provided to a user in specific selected sizes to allow for selective embolization of certain sized blood vessels or localized treatment with an active component agent in specific clinical uses. Microspheres of the present invention may further be provided with physical and/or chemical enhancements within the particles' cores to enhance visualization of the embolized tissue using a variety of medical imaging modalities, including conventional radiography, fluoroscopy, tomography, computerized tomography, ultrasound, scintillation, magnetic resonance, or other imaging technologies.

摘要： Acid-labile poly(N-vinyl formamide) (“PNVF”) nanocapsules were synthesized by free radical polymerization of N-vinyl formamide with optional active ingredients on the surface of silica nanoparticles. Polymerization in the presence of a novel cross-linker that contains an acid-labile ketal facilitated stable etching of silica nanoparticle templates using sodium hydroxide and recovery of PNVF nanocapsules. The formamido side group of PNVF was then hydrolyzed by extended exposure to sodium hydroxide to produce polyvinylamine (“PVAm”) nanocapsules. PNVF and PVAm nanoparticles are also synthesized that form nanogels with optional active ingredients.
