    • An image forming apparatus comprises a photosensitive drum, a pivot inserted through the center of the photosensitive drum for rotatably supporting the photosensitive drum, and a mass body disposed at the pivot in the photosensitive drum for changing a frequency of the pivot by changing the center of gravity and the shape of the pivot. The mass body is cylindrical in shape. Accordingly, noise and vibration of a developing device, generated due to friction between rollers and the photosensitive drum, are absorbed by the mass body. The natural frequency of the pivot is changed so that amplification of noise and vibration, due to resonance of a vibration frequency and the natural frequency, can be prevented. Therefore, exacerbation of the noise and the vibration can be prevented.

    • A card read and write controller for use in a personal computer according to the present invention includes a voltage generator for supplying a power voltage to the chip-in card when the chip-in card is inserted into a card insertion slot; a clock generator for supplying an initial clock signal to the chip-in card. A bus interface serves the host controller, while a serial port accommodates serial data communication with the host controller. A bootable read-only-memory (ROM) provides a booting control program, a common random-access-memory (RAM) stores operational and program data, and a central processing unit (CPU) controls activation of a light-emitting-diode (LED) indicating the insertion or ejection of the chip-in card, generates the interrupt signal, and checks whether data transmitted to the card and data received from the card are identical with each other to determine that the inserted chip-in card is an authorized card for the personal computer system.

    • A circuit for sensing a communication state equipped with a signal detecting circuit and a busy signal generating circuit for sensing different communication states accurately monitors the communication state of a communication network. The circuit includes a signal detecting section for detecting a start signal representing the initiation of data transmission and a stop signal informing of the finish of the data transmission from serial data and serial clock received via a bus, a busy signal generating section for determining a level of a busy signal according to levels of the start signal and stop signal of the signal detecting section, and a microprocessor for controlling the transmission/reception of the serial data and serial clock in accordance with the level of the busy signal of the busy signal generating section.
