    • A flywheel assembly has a first flywheel which is detachably connected to the crankshaft of a combustion engine, a second flywheel which can be rotated relative to the first, and a torque transformer, such as a hub disc, which is located in a chamber between the two flywheels, which chamber is filled with a viscous medium and which torque transformer is equipped with a torsion damping unit. The chamber is defined on that side facing the second flywheel by a cover plate, which encloses an air channel between it and the second flywheel, which air channel extends radially outward from a ventilation opening in the second flywheel. The torque transformer is provided radially outward from the ventilation opening with an annular surface, which annular surface extends preferably in the axial direction. The cover plate extends with its radially inward end in the radial direction to the annular surface and in the axial direction to the radially outer portion of the torque transformer, whereby the annular surface defines the maximum radial distance from the torque transformer to the ventilation opening for the change of direction of the air channel.

A main damping unit and an idling damping unit are arranged for torque transmission from the torque input member to the hub member. A main damper input unit of the main damping unit is connected to the torque input member. A main damper output unit of the main damping unit is connected to an idling damper input unit of the idling damper unit and an idling damper output unit of the idling damper unit is connected to the hub member. A centrifugal mass-controlled locking member is provided for selectively permitting or locking angular relative movement of the main damper output unit with respect to the hub member. The angular movement of the main damper output unit with respect to the hub member is limited by interengaging abutment members having an angular play with respect to each other. The centrifugal mass-controlled locking member cooperates with these abutment members so as to selectively permit or lock this play.

    • A clutch disc as used e.g. in motor vehicle clutches comprises a hub member and a friction lining carrier. The friction lining carrier surrounds the hub member and is mounted thereon for angular movement with respect to the hub member about the axis of rotation of the hub member. A torque is transmitted from the friction lining carrier to the hub member by two groups of torque transmitting springs which are arranged in series. A first group of torque transmitting springs is provided between the hub member on the one hand and an intermediate torque transmission unit on the other hand. A second group of torque transmitting springs is provided between the intermediate torque transmission unit on the one hand and the friction lining carrier on the other hand. Each torque transmitting spring is received by radially aligned openings of three respective torque transmitting sleeves.
