The inventive image pickup system solves the above-mentioned problem by setting the sweep-out transfer period of the first field side to be longer than the sweep-out transfer period of a second field in a digital still camera which controls an exposure time by using a mechanical shutter in using as an image pickup device, a solid-state image pickup device which carries out the sweep-out transfer of transferring and sweeping charges within a vertical transfer section quickly more than transfer speed in transferring the signal charges read out from a sensor section to the vertical transfer section before reading out the signal charges from the sensor section to the vertical transfer section.

The dummy bit elimination device has a converter for eliminating only dummy bits from FEC (Forward Error Correction) code. The coding apparatus has an optical-to-electrical signal transducer, a demultiplexer, a coder for generating an FEC code, a multiplexer for multiplexing inputs, and an electrical-to-optical signal transducer. The dummy bit elimination device is inserted between the coder and the multiplexer so that the outputs of the coder are fed to the converter and an outputs of the converter are fed to the multiplexer.

摘要： An active matrix substrate plate having superior properties is manufactured at high yield using four photolithographic fabrication steps. In step 1, the scanning line and the gate electrode extending from the scanning line are formed in the glass plate. In step 2, the gate insulation layer and the semiconductor layer comprised by amorphous silicon layer and n+ amorphous silicon layer is laminated to provide the semiconductor layer for the TFT section. In step 3, the transparent conductive layer and the metallic layer are laminated, and the signal line, the drain electrode extending from the signal line, the pixel electrode and the source electrode extending from the pixel electrode are formed, and the n+ amorphous silicon layer of the channel gap is removed by etching. In step 4, the protective insulation layer is formed, and the protective insulation layer and the metal layer above the pixel electrode are removed by etching.
