    • PURPOSE:To manufacture simply a hollow part having a stepped part on the outer periphery by rotating a columnar material and pressing with three forming rolls provided in circumference and piercing a hole at the center of the material by a rotary mandrel. CONSTITUTION:Both end faces of a columnar steel material 45 are supported by flanges 26, 26a, and three forming rolls 20 are arranged around them. While rotating the material 45, mandrels 27, 27a are advanced through holes provided in the center of flanges 26, 26a, and a hole is pierced along the center axis of the material 45. At the same time, rotating three forming rolls are pressed down against the outer peripheral face of the rotating material 45 to form a necessary stepped part on the outer peripheral face of the material 45. By this way, a hollow part having stepped part on the outer periphery can be manufactured by small number of stages and man-hours.

    • PURPOSE:To perform diffusion joining of multilayer cylindrical bodies effectively and surely by pressing the outside circumferential surfaces of the joined members by acting gaseous pressure thereby pressure-welding the fitted surfaces of the cylindrical bodies. CONSTITUTION:A sealing plate 1 is brazed to the top and under end face parts of the fitting surfaces 6 of an outside cylinder 4 and an inside cylinder 5 in a vacuum. The assembly of these two layer cylinders 4, 5 and sealing plate 1 which are brazed to one piece is put into a device that can apply gaseous pressure and temp. simultaneously, in which it is applied with gas pressure while being maintained at a diffusion joining temp., whereby the fitted surfaces 6 are diffusion- joined. The application of the gaseous pressure causes the inside cylinder 5 to elastically deform in a diameter expanding direction and the outside cylinder 4 in a diameter reducing direction and therefore the joined surfaces are pressure-welded and are diffusion- joined. Compressive stress is generated by the gaseous pressure acting upon the contact surfaces of the top and under end faces of the sealing plate 1 and the two layer cylinders 4, 5, so that the diffusion joining treatment is accomplished in the normal pressure-welded state of the fitted surfaces as well without the entry of brazing metal between the contact surfaces.

    • PURPOSE:To perform die forging of a molding having an intricate shape without producing under fill and burrs by forming roughly the top and bottom of a blank material with top and bottom dies, forming roughly the side faces with side dies, and pressing the blank material in a closed state with punches to pack the same in the closed space. CONSTITUTION:A closed forging die is constituted of top and bottom dies 10, 11 which define the shape of the top and bottom surfaces of a molding 1 and plural divided side dies 12, 13, 14, 15 which are positioned between the top and bottom dies and define the shape on the side faces of the molding. The top and bottom surfaces are roughly formed and the side faces are roughly formed, by which the forging die closed with the dies 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 is obtd. The roughly formed material is pressed with punches 16-19 through any of the dies to pack the blank material in the forging die. Thus, the die forging is accomplished.

    • PURPOSE:To enable rotary forging that meets the shape of a work by providing a required number of punches which position the top or bottom die of a press to the holders of the top or bottom die of a press and inclining the opposing surfaces of the respective holders at optional angles relatively with each other. CONSTITUTION:Four punches 12-A, B, C, D are connected, via universal joints 13, to a top die 11, and are constituted vertically individually movably as desired by oil pressure. The punches 12-A, B,- are controlled so that the die 11 has an attitude (a) inclining downward toward the left to form a work X. The die 11 is thereafter brought into the state (b) inclining downward toward the right and to a horizontal state (c) to form successively the work X. The contact area between the forged article and the die is thus decreased in performing forging, and the number of the punches 12 is enough if it is >=3 pieces. Rotary forging of a large-sized forged article to a desired shape is thus made possible by using a press having relatively small forging capacity.
