    • PURPOSE:To improve productivity and yield along with the refinement of image quality by providing an opening part through one part of a valve, applying a nessa solution on the opening part and on the outer surface, and inside the valve, and calcining them, filling low-melting glass into the opening part, and by calcining said glass and hermetically sealing the opening part. CONSTITUTION:Calcined nessa 12a and 12b are formed on the internal and external surfaces 10, 11 of a valve 1, respectively, and these calcined nessa 12a, 12b are connected with calcined nessa through the round hole opening part 13. Moreover, low-melting glass 14 is filled into the opening part 13, permitting spaces inside the valve and between the external surfaces 10, 11 to be hermetically sealed. Furthermore a projection part 15 is provided on a mesh electrode 3 making contact with the clacined nessa 12a, and said projection part acts to supply voltage to the mesh electrode 3 and is provided with function to fix the electrode 3 to the valve 1. Hereby, it is possible to raise the accuracy of the parallelism between a photo conductive film and a mesh part and to improve the yield and productivity along with the refinement of image quality.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce production processes and produce the display element of superior quality by forming an empty cell from two sheets of electrode substrate having electrode pattern erasing films then forming orientation films on said erasing film surfaces and injecting and sealing liquid crystal composition into the cell. CONSTITUTION:Two sheets of electrode substrates 3 which comprise providing pattern electrodes 2 on substrates 1 and forming pattern erasing films 4 on the electrodes 2 are bonded at the peripheral part excluding the portions of injection holes 5 by using low-melting point glass (adhesive agent) 6, whereby an empty cell is formed. Next, an orienting agent is filled through the injection ports 5 into the cell and after leaving the cell for a while, the cell is rotated to discharge the excess orienting agent through the injection holes 5 by centrifugal force. Thence, heat treatment is applied to form orientation films 7 on the cell inside surfaces. Next, one of the injection holes 5 is hermeticaly sealed by sealing body 8, after which liquid crystal composition is injection into the cell through the other injection hole 5 by a vacuum injection method and the injection hole 5 is hermeticlly sealed by sealing body 9, whereby the liquid crystal display element is provided.
