摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin in good reaction reproducibility by reaction on heating between a condensed polycyclic aromatic compound and a specific second aromatic compound as the crosslinking agent in a solution system with an acid catalyst dissolved in the solvent whose boiling point is specified below the reaction temperature to expel by volatilization during the reaction. CONSTITUTION:The objective thermosetting hydrocarbon resin can be obtained by reaction on heating in a solution system with an acid catalyst (e.g., benzenesulfonic acid) dissolved in the solvent whose boiling point is specified below the reaction temperature to expel by volatilization during the reaction between (A) a raw material consisting mainly of condensed polycyclic aromatic compound (e.g., naphthalene) and (B) a crosslinking agent consisting mainly of a second aromatic compound having at least two hydroxymethyl or halomethyl groups [e.g., di(hydroxymethylbenzene)]. The concentration of the acid catalyst in said solution is preferably 10-30wt%.

CONSTITUTION:The objective resin can be obtained by reaction on heating to pref. 100-200 deg.C in the presence of an acid catalyst such as toluenesulfonic acid between (A) a raw material comprising condensed polycyclic aromatic compound (pref., naphthalene) and (B) a conventional crosslinking agent, a compound of formula XCH2PhCH2X(X is OH or halogen; Ph is phenylene) plus a special such agent, a second compound of formula (n is 1-4). The crosslinking agent of the latter formula is preferably 2,5-di(chloromethyl)-p- xylene. The conventional agent to be used is e.g., p-xylylene glycol.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a surface active substance having a total acid value even in a reduced use amount of nitric acid and suitable for a dispersant for cement, by applying nitric acid oxidation to petroleum or coal heavy hydrocarbon in an inert solvent in the presence of oxygen or air. CONSTITUTION:Heavy hydrocarbon such as asphalt or pitch is ground and finely pulverized to be dispersed in a halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon type solvent while the resulting dispersion is introduced into an autoclave, and nitric acid and oxygen or air are further introduced into said autoclave to perform reaction at 100-150 deg.C under pressure of 2-10kg/cm G. As the oxidizing agent, nitrogen dioxide or nitrogen monoxide or a mixture of both of them is used in a use amount of 0.02-2pts. on the basis of 100% nitric acid by wt. of 1pts.wt. of the stock material. By this method, a surface active substance with a total acid value of 2.0-5.0mg equivalent/g and solubility of 95% or more and having excellent viscosity reducing effect is obtained eve in a reduced use amount of nitric acid. Further, the generation of waste acid and waste gas as byproducts at the time of reaction is reduced and, further, the product is insoluble in a solvent and, therefore, filtering is well and the surface active substance is excellent from an industrial aspect.

(C) selected from among compds. of Group VIb and VIII metals (e.g. CoO, MoO2 and WO3) (the weight ratio of A to B is 10/1-1/10, the quantity of component C is 10-40wt% based on that of component B) is used. When said catalyst is used, hydrocarbon fraction can be dewaxed and desulfurized at a relatively low temp. stably over a long period of time to obtain hydrocarbon oil having low-temperature flow characteristics in high yields.
