Further, the auxiliary arm 16 is laid obliquely or longitudinally of the vehicle body 34, having a rigidity which is higher than that of the main arm, and having its one end coupled to the main arm 14, rotatably about an axis extending vertically, and the other end coupled to the vehicle body 34 through the intermediary of a resilient cylindrical bushing 44 whose axis extends vertically.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and prevent a car body rear part from being lifted upon braking operation by providing a trailing arm composed of leaf spring and a link coupled to moving part of shock absorber and wheel support member so as to swing freely. CONSTITUTION:A member for supporting wheels 16 is suspended by trailing arms 12. A shock absorber 16 is arranged at each end of the support member 10 and connected to the support member 10 and car body 18 so as to swing freely. The arm 12 is composed of leaf spring. A link 20 is coupled to a part 24 of shock absorber 16 moving together with the support member 10 and the support member 10 through bush members so as to swing freely. A lateral rod 32 is coupled to the support member 10 and the car body 18 to control lateral displacement of the support member 10. When rotating force is applied to the arm 12 upon braking operation, the movement of side end part of the support member 10 is restrained by the link 20 accordingly.

    • PURPOSE:To make such control as stabilizing the position of a car body achievable with one type sensor. CONSTITUTION:Four spring arms 20, 21, 70 and 71 made of fiber reinforced plastics are installed in an interval between members 36, 61 at the wheel side and other members at the car body side. Likewise four variable suspension units 40, 41, 65 and 66 with a shock absorber function each are installed in an interval between the members 35, 61 at the wheel side and the 36, 63 at the car body side. These variable suspension units 40, 41, 65, and 66 are designed so as to make each damping force selectable. In addition, each of sensors 55, 56, 75 and 76 detecting each strain is installed in these spring arms 20, 21 70 and 71. Moreover, a control unit 81 calculates the extent of displacement and acceleration or the like in these spring arms 20, 21, 70 and 71, and thereby operating the variable suspension units 40, 41, 65 and 66 in a direction of stabilizing the position of a car body on the basis of the calculated result.
