    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operation stability without deteriorating the comfortableness of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A twist beam type rear suspension has a pair of trailing arms 10R and 10L, twist beam 24 to connect these trailing arms, and a pair of tow control links 12R and 12L, which are pivotally supported on the front ends of the trailing arms through the rear side joints 36R and 36L, which are pivotally supported in a car body 14 through front side joints 32R and 32L, and the rear side joints 36R and 36L have axis lines 52R and 52L in the vertical direction of a vehicle, and the shaft lines 64R and 64L of a pair of the tow control links cross each other on the rotary shaft lines 22R and 22L of wheels practically in the central plane 76 of the vehicle viewed from a position above the vehicle or at an intersection 78 in a rear section. In addition, pivotal motion restricting devices 60R and 60L are provided to restrict the pivotal motion of the tow control links in direction other than the periphery of the axial lines.

    • PURPOSE:To maintain steering stability, improve comfortable ride and avoid link interference by arranging so that the line connecting pivots on both ends of a control link can be intersected with each other on or backward the axis of wheels in a center plane in the case of observing a vehicle from above. CONSTITUTION:One end of a control link 46R is pivoted by a ball joint 48R on a control lever 50 consisting of a main body 52 on whose both ends brackets 54R are fixed and its other end is pivoted on a twist beam 28 by a ball joint 44R. The height of the center O1R of the ball joint 44R is same as that of the ball joint 48R and it is positioned on more backward and inboard side of vehicles. The line 64R connecting the center O1R with O2R is intersected on the intersection 62 between a rear axle center line 58 and the center plane 60 of the vehicles and the center O2R is positioned on the axis 12R. Therefore, the control link 46R can not disturb the parallel movement in the front/rear direction of the trailing arm 10R and comfortable ride and steering stability can be improved.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the durability of a joint section (bush) laid on an axle beam, regarding a rear wheel suspension device used for supporting the axle beam on a trailing arm. CONSTITUTION: This rear wheel suspension device is used to support an axle beam 2 for mounting a rear wheel 3, on a pair of trailing arms 4 (formed out of a trailing rod 12 and a diagonal rod 13) laid at both lateral ends of a body. In this case, the first bush 5 for jointing the arms 4 to the body in such a state as capable of oscillation is provided, together with joint sections for the second bushes 6 to 8 positioned at a gap along the axial direction of the axle beam 2 for connecting the trailing arms 4 thereto via elastic materials, in such a state as capable of oscillation. In addition, a groove 23 is formed at least on the central section of the axle beam 2, in such a state as having an open cross sectional form.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a toe-in tendency of a turning outer wheel by positioning a front side instantaneous rotation center of a subframe above a rear side instantaneous rotation center. SOLUTION: In turning a vehicle, a subframe 20 is relatively turned toward the same direction as a vehicle body around the longitudinal axis line passing through the instantaneous rotation center to a vehicle body. In this process, the subframe 20 is turned around the instantaneous rotation center line passing through the front side instantaneous rotation center Sf and the rear side instantaneous rotation center Sr, and the instantaneous rotation center line becomes a straight line tilting upward toward the front side as the front side instantaneous rotation center Sf is positioned above the rear side instantaneous rotation center Sr. In this way, according to the rotation of the subframe 20, the turning outer wheel part in the front side part is moved inward while the turning outer wheel part in the rear side part is moved outward of the vehicle. Therefore, a toe-in tendency of the turning outer wheel can be increased according to the rotation of the subframe 20 around the longitudinal axis line.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity of a torsion beam by preventing the generation of defects such as a crack and a wrinkle at both ends of the torsion beam in a press forming time. SOLUTION: This torsion beam type suspension has a pair of trailing arms 10L and 10R which are provided separating in the lateral direction of a vehicle each other, pivoted to the car body at the front end parts, and support a wheel rotatable at the rear end parts; and a torsion beam 12 extending in the lateral direction of the vehicle, and connected to the trailing arms integrally at the both ends by welding parts 24. The torsion beam has a U-shape cross section opening rearward, the depth of the cross section is increased gradually as going to the both ends, and cuttings 22L and 22R are provided at the bottoms of the U-shape sections of both ends. The cuttings function as a stress releasing part to the drawing process at both ends of the raw material of torsion beam, in the press forming time of the torsion beam.
