    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save the compressed air consumption by shortening the cylinder stroke and make the size of device compact. SOLUTION: An ON-OFF changeover device disposes a cylinder 10 through a link member 11 to rotate a predetermined angle against a support body 2 a rotary movement support ring 3b of an eddy current reduction gear which disposes in parallel a fixed support ring 3a and the rotary movement support ring 3b which dispose on each periphery permanent magnets 6a, 6b of which the polarities are disposed in opposite directions each other on the supporting body which supports a rotary shaft, and faces a plurality of switch boards 7 which are magnetically insulated each others on the outer peripheral magnet pole surfaces of groups of the permanent magnets 6a, 6b. When the rotary movement support ring 3b is moved by reciprocating the rod of the cylinder 10 from a brake OFF position to a brake ON position or from the brake ON position to the brake OFF position, the reciprocating distance of the rod within a range of a distance which makes a smaller distance of latter half distances of the stroke of the rod which is moved only by a magnetic attraction force the maximum is absorbed by the link member 11.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eddy-current speed reducer that suppresses temperature rise of a braking disc, in a disc-type eddy-current speed reducer.
      SOLUTION: The eddy-current speed reducer includes a braking disc, coupled to a rotary shaft of a vehicle and a magnetic-field generating part that is coupled to a non-rotating part of the vehicle so as to make a magnetic field act on the braking disc. The braking disc includes a braking part that has a braking face facing the magnetic-field generating part. A thermal-deformation fulcrum of the braking disc is located on the side opposite to the magnetic-field generating part across a plane that contains the braking face in the axial direction of the rotary shaft. The braking disc is molded so that the thickness of the braking part and that of the part, corresponding to the thermal-deformation fulcrum, become substantially the same.
