    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eddy current type reduction gear with a power regeneration function, capable of preventing an impact at brake switching, achieving miniaturization, and also suppressing improper heat dissipation by regenerating power at braking.
      SOLUTION: The reduction gear includes a brake disk 1 fixed to a rotating shaft 11 of a vehicle, permanent magnets 5 whose magnetic polarities are mutually and alternately arranged over the circumferential direction while opposing the main surface of the brake disk 1, a rotating member 3 which has a magnet disk 4 for holding the permanent magnets 5 and a switch brake disk 6, and is rotatably supported to the rotating shaft 11, a switch brake caliper 7 which has brake pads 8a, 8b for sandwiching the brake disk 6 therebetween and is fixed to a non-rotating part of the vehicle, and an actuator 9 for linearly driving the pads 8a, 8b. A plurality of winding coils 21 are embedded in the main surface of the brake disk 1 over the circumferential direction, electric conductive wires 22 of the winding coils 21 are drawn out, and fixed electric connecting points 25 which slidably contact with the exposed electric conductive wires 22 are formed at the electronic conductive wires.

The eddy-current speed reducer is so constructed that the group of magnets 5 are disposed that their magnetic pole faces are in parallel with the principal surface of the braking disk 2 during braking, and the group of magnets 5 are provided so that they can move forward and backward between a position where they are close to the braking disk 2 and a position, where they are away from the braking disk in the case 3. To absorb the thermal expansion of the cover 11, the cover 11 is formed as an annular flat plate and is fixed on the case 3, with gaps 12a and 12b provided at least on the outer circumferential side of the cover 11.
