    • An encoding apparatus which structures a band-divided digital image signal into three-dimensional blocks each having a plurality of pixels, discriminates each three-dimensional block between a moving image block and a static image block, and, in the case of a static image block, encodes only the three-dimensional blocks in the lower frequency bands while dropping the three-dimensional blocks in the higher frequency bands. However, of moving image blocks, blocks having a large pixel variance value are encoded as effective image blocks.     • There has been a problem of displacement of luminance and chromaticity among multiple screens due to a temperature change and a temporal change of a light source of the screen. The present invention provides a multi-screen display device including a plurality of image display devices, in which one master device and one or a plurality of slave devices communicable with the master device are included, each of the image display devices is provided with a DMD that modulates light of a light source, a screen that projects an image by modulated output light of the DMD, and an RGB luminance sensor that detects luminance of light from the DMD in an off-state, to output a luminance detection value, the master device is provided with a setting part that sets a luminance setting value unified among the plurality of image display devices based on a value in accordance with the luminance detection values, and each image display device is further provided with a luminance/chromaticity corrector that controls luminance/chromaticity of an image displayed on the screen based on the luminance setting value.

    • A multi-screen display apparatus is a multi-screen display apparatus in which screens of a master apparatus and slave apparatuses are arranged. Each of the master apparatus and the slave apparatuses includes a light source for three primary colors formed of a semiconductor light emitting element, and a memory circuit for storing a brightness corresponding to a control current that is specific to each of the primary colors of the light source. Each of the master apparatus and the slave apparatuses reads, as a target control current, the control current corresponding to the target brightness from the memory circuit, and supplies the target control current to the light source.
