    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunctions which are caused by trapping and jamming of foreign particles. SOLUTION: In an electromagnetic valve 40, a needle-like valve body 42 is housed slidably in a valve body 41. An armature 50 is housed in an armature chamber 49, formed by a valve housing 48. Through passages 46, 55, axially penetrating are formed within the valve body 42 and the armature 50 and the tip end of the valve body 42 is press fitted fixedly in the through passage 55. The armature 50 faces a stator 52 at a fixed distance. In addition, a fluid communicated pathway 54, which is in fluid communication with a fuel reservoir chamber 19 and the armature chamber 49, is provided within the valve housing 48. Thus, fuel in the fuel reservoir chamber 19 flows into the armature chamber 49 via the fluid communicated pathway 54 and further flows into the through passages 46, 55 via gap between the armature 50 and the stator 52, and at the same time, flows into the through passage 46 via the outer periphery of the armature 50 and a flow passage 47 of the valve body 42.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately measure space volume and highly accurately determinate the residual thereof even if the residual quantity of fuel of a fuel tank is small and a space volume is large. SOLUTION: The residual operation part 73 of CPU 14 measures the space volume of a fuel tank from pressure change ΔP subtracting the pressure change of the fuel tank from that of a reference vessel and the other pressure change Pt of the fuel tank, and the space volume is subtracted from the capacity of the fuel tank to calculate the residual quantity of fuel. Since the pressure changes ΔP, Pt are obtained from the output of a pressure sensor 5, for a line sending an electric signal from the pressure sensor 5 to an AD conversion part 71 of CPU 14, a gain switch part 70 in which a sensor signal is amplified 250 times in a case where the residual quantity of calculation of the residual operation part 73 is smaller than 20 liters, and it is amplified 75 times in another case where the residual quantity is larger than 20 liters is provided. Even if the residual quantity is small, the sensor signal of higher voltage than the conventional is supplied to the AD conversion part 71. Consequently, residual quantity measuring precision can be enhanced as compared with the conventional.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor that realizes a hermetic seal between an isolating insulator at an element side and a housing only with metallic packing. SOLUTION: In the gas sensor, the cylindrical housing 10 is hermetically inserted with the isolating insulator 3 at the element side via the annular metallic packing 11, and a receiving surface 103 is placed on inside surface of the housing 10. The isolating insulator 3 at the element side is composed of a small diameter part and large diameter part with a large diameter structured, and a taper surface 33 extending from the side of the small diameter part to the outside of a diameter direction. The receiving surface 103 supports the taper surface 33 via the metallic packing 11, and the taper surface 33 and the metallic packing 11 are contacted at the end of the outer circumference of the taper surface 33 where the contacting shape of both of them is a line contact.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor which is superior in productivity and built-in property without the fear of separating an electrode film and a coating layer of a gas concentration-detecting element such as an oxygen-detecting element or the like. SOLUTION: An oxygen sensor 1 as the sensor has a gas concentration- detecting element 10 with a touch gas part to be in touch with a gas to be measured, a housing 41 for holding the gas concentration-detecting element 10 and a protecting cover 21 for covering the touch gas part of the gas concentration-detecting element 10 with having a gas hole for circulation of the gas to be measured. A looped groove 45 is provided between a caulked projecting part 43 and an inner projecting part 44 at the side of the gas of the housing 41. An opening flange 213 of the protecting cover 21 is fitted in the looped groove 45 and moreover, the caulked projecting part 43 is caulked to a direction of the protecting cover 21. A projection length of the inner projecting part 44 of the housing 41 is shorter than a projection length of the caulked projecting part 43.
