摘要： 25,341. Shaw, A., and Bland, A. Dec. 1. Stuffing - boxes.- Relates to metallic packing for pistonrods, valve rods, and the like ; two kinds of such packing are described. (1) In one kind of packing, of which Fig. 3 shows one form, a series of split rings 2, 3, 4 are contained in a conical cup 1, which has a flat bearing-face at the bottom at right-angles to the rod. The adjacent faces of the rings 2 and 3 are coned so that they are approximately at rightangles to the conical face of the cup. The inner end of the cup has a flat bearing against a spherically-seated ring 9, and the rings and cup are pressed home by a spring acting against a follower 7. In one form, two sets of rings and cups pressed in opposite directions are employed ; and, in another form, additional rings are used in the one cup and the endwise pressure is exerted by a number of small springs lodged in recesses in a spring block-ring. (2) The second kind of packing improved is like that described in Specification No. 15,922, A.D. 1898. In this, shown in Figs. 6 and 7, the packing blocks 17 are contained in L-rings 16 made with pockets 16 for the reception of springs 19 for pressing the blocks 17 against the rod.

摘要： An apparatus for infusion equipment comprising a vessel having a tubular bore and a separate actuator pump for the vessel. The apparatus comprises a holder shaped and dimensioned to hold the vessel and a pump attachment to which the holder can be securely fitted. The attachment is shaped and dimensioned to be removeably engagable with an actuator pump, to thereby, when the holder is fitted to the pump attachment, removeably hold the pump and vessel in mutual fixed relation such that the actuator pump is operably engaged with a piston of the vessel without attaching the vessel to the pump. Embodiments of a case, a kit and a method are also described.

摘要： Hydroxylated nebivolol metabolites increase NO release from human endothelial cell preparations in a concentration dependent fashion following acute administration. In addition, hydroxylated nebivolol metabolites, including but not limited to 4-hydroxy- 6,6'difluoro have the ability to increase the capacity for NO release in human endothelial cells following chronic administration. This invention provides hydroxylated nebivolol metabolites to treat cardiovascular diseases. In addition, this invention provides methods of treating and/or preventing vascular diseases by administering at least one hydroxylated metabolite of nebivolol that is capable of releasing a therapeutically effective amount of nitric oxide to a targeted site affected by the vascular disease.

The present invention also provides cleaning compositions (e.g., detergent compositions), animal feed compositions, and textile and leather processing compositions comprising protease(s) obtained from a Micrococcineae spp., including but not limited to Cellulomonas spp. In alternative embodiments, the present invention provides mutant (i.e., variant) proteases derived from the wild-type proteases described herein. These mutant proteases also find use in numerous applications.

摘要： The present invention provides methods and compositions comprising at least one neutral metalloprotease enzyme that has improved storage stability. In some embodiments, the neutral metalloprotease finds use in cleaning and other applications. In some particularly preferred embodiments, the present invention provides methods and compositions comprising neutral metalloprotease(s) obtained from Bacillus sp. In some more particularly preferred embodiments, the neutral metalloprotease is obtained from B. amyloliquefaciens. In still further preferred embodiments, the neutral metalloprotease is a variant of the B. amyloliquefaciens neutral metalloprotease. In yet additional embodiments, the neutral metalloprotease is a homolog of the the B. amyloliquefaciens neutral metalloprotease. The present invention finds particular use in applications including, but not limited to cleaning, bleaching and disinfecting.
