    • This invention relates to a simple, inexpensive calendar sheet and holder, intended as an appointment type where notations may be made in each day box, that has as its feature a continuous week by week display covering several, say 5, weeks at a time. Preferably one plus calendar years are printed on a continuous roll of paper so that as each week ends it is pulled so that successive weeks, one per line, are exposed and the used portion may be torn-off. The flat calendar holder is of simple, preferably one piece, construction, which has a unitary chamber to hold the calendar roll and an aperture to expose the calendar sheet.

    • Micro-fluid ejection heads and methods for extending the life of micro-fluid ejection heads. One such micro-fluid ejection head includes a substrate having a plurality of thermal ejection actuators. Each of the thermal ejection actuators has a resistive layer and a protective layer thereon. A flow feature member is adjacent the substrate and defines a fluid feed channel, a fluid chamber associated with at least one of the actuators and in flow communication with the fluid feed channel, and a nozzle. The nozzle is offset to a side of the chamber opposite the feed channel. A polymeric layer having a degradation temperature of less than about 400° C. overlaps a portion of the at least one actuator associated with the fluid chamber and positioned less than about five microns from at least an edge of the at least one actuator opposite the fluid feed channel.

    • A micro-fluid ejection device structure and method therefor having improved low energy design. The devices includes a semiconductor substrate and an insulating layer deposited on the semiconductor substrate. A plurality of heater resistors are formed on the insulating layer from a resistive layer selected from the group consisting of TaAl, Ta2N, TaAl(O,N), TaAlSi, Ti(N,O), WSi(O,N), TaAlN, and TaAl/TaAlN. A sacrificial layer selected from an oxidizable metal and having a thickness ranging from about 500 to about 5000 Angstroms is deposited on the plurality of heater resistors. Electrodes are formed on the sacrificial layer from a first metal conductive layer to provide anode and cathode connections to the plurality of heater resistors. The sacrificial layer is oxidized in a plasma oxidation process to provide a fluid contact layer on the plurality of heater resistors.

    • A pivoted hand tool, such as a scissors, includes a pair of blades having non-rectilinear cutting edges to form various cutting patterns on a sheet of paper. The scissors also include at least one guide to control the angular presentation of the paper to the blades and limit the amount of paper presented to the blades. The guide may also include a pair of ridges spaced apart from a pair of abutting surfaces, thereby providing a way to further limit the amount of paper presented to the blades. The scissors preferably have identically-shaped handles and oppositely facing guides to enable a user to create several complementary patterns on the sheet of paper simply by reversing the position in which the scissors are held.
