    • Remote enclosure systems have now been designed and are described herein that meet the following goals: a) consolidates electrical terminations in one system; b) pre-terminates AC and DC equipment loads before site installation; c) provides multiple access points for facilitating equipment repair and installation; d) is easily expanded through the use of additional systems or expansion cabinets and e) is aesthetically functional given the cable entry and routing structure. Remote enclosure systems generally comprise: a) a frame system further comprising at least two side panels; b) at least one door coupled to the frame system; c) at least one removable radiofrequency (RF) port plate coupled to at least one of the side panels and/or the frame system; d) a bottom panel coupled to the frame system; and e) a cable management top assembly coupled to the frame system. The remote enclosure system may also comprise any number of components suitable for electronics, wireless and cable-based data and telecommunications applications, including air conditioner exhaust member, an air conditioner unit, a battery pack, a meter base, a power receptacle box, an alarm system or alarm device, an expansion cabinet, a coupling device or system, a pre-wiring system and/or a demarcation component. A remote enclosure system may be produced by: a) providing a frame system having at least two side panels, at least one door coupled to the frame system, at least one removable RF port plate coupled to at least one of the side panels, a bottom panel coupled to the frame system, and a cable management top assembly coupled to the frame system; b) providing an expansion cabinet; and c) coupling the frame system to the expansion cabinet through a coupling interface.

    • An improved program status register is disclosed with a feature to handle state change for a processor and its memory subsystem. The program status register comprises a clock, at least one update value for updating the program status register to a second value from a first value when an update enable signal is received, a sampled program status register storing the first value of the program status register, and a state change sampling register generating a synchronized state change signal from a state change indication signal and the clock. When the update enable signal is initially received and a state change indication signal is further received thereafter during a first clock cycle, an updated output of the program status register is restored through a first selection module triggered by the synchronized state change signal to the first value in a second clock cycle following the first clock cycle.

    • A sanitizable piston pump for dispensing ingredients of cosmetic preparations and other sanitary mixtures is shown and described. The pump includes a valve block including an inlet port threadably connected to a nipple which is detachably connected to an outlet port of a flexible package. The valve block further includes a piston port threadably connected to cylinder and an outlet port that sealably receives a valve stem. The inlet port, the outlet port and the piston port are in fluid communication with one another upon removal of the valve stem from the valve block. The valve stem includes an intake passage and an output passage. The cylinder slidably receives a piston. Both the piston and valve stem are connected to separate actuators. The actuator connected to the valve stem moves the valve stem into one of either an intake position for withdrawing fluid into the cylinder or a dispense position for pumping fluid out of the cylinder and out the outlet of the valve stem. A disposable plastic piston pump is also disclosed. Further, a lever mechanism for quickly and easily releasing a flexible package from the nipple connected to the valve block of the disclosed piston pumps is also shown and described.

    • A remote control can signal equipment that handles a video or audio signal, such as a television. The remote control has a bar with a central longitudinal axis. The bar has a head and is sized to be manually gripped. A thumbswitch mounted at the head of the bar, is approximately aligned with the central longitudinal axis. Also, a signalling device is mounted on the bar for radiating a control signal to the equipment. A processor is coupled to the thumbswitch and the signalling device for commanding through the signalling device in response to a predetermined reciprocation of the thumbswitch an operational change in the equipment, which is unambiguously consummated without further manipulation of the remote control and independently of angular displacement of said central longitudinal axis. For example, the processor can signal the equipment to change channels in response to operation of the thumbswitch.

    • A simplified fluid separation method and device usable for various apheresis procedures, including plasmapheresis. At least one pump is utilized to draw a first fluid (e.g. whole blood) into a separation device. The separation device then operates to separate the fluid (e.g. whole blood) into first and second fluid fractions (e.g. a cell concentrate and blood plasma). The first and second fluid fractions are pumped from the separation device to separate first and second fluid fraction containers, both of which are positioned on a single weighing device, such as an electronic load cell. At least one of the fluid fractions is subsequently removed from its fluid fraction container and returned to the human subject or other fluid source. Weights recorded by the single weighing device are then utilized to calculate the actual weights of fluid and/or fluid fractions pumped by at least one pump during the procedure. Such actual weights of fluid and/or fluid fractions are then utilized to calculate new pump flow constants, thereby enabling the calibration of the pump(s) to be corrected, on the basis of such new pump flow constants, prior to subsequent utilization of the pump(s) for pumping the fluid and/or fluid fractions. The single weighing device may also be utilized to monitor the weight change or rate of weight change occurring as the fluid fractions are pumped into and/or out of the fluid fraction containers, thereby providing a means for monitoring and verifying the pressures and flow rates within the system.
