    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the variance of density of a recorded picture, by recording the pictures with a signal obtained by adding the polarity alternating random number which has dependence or no dependence on the level of an input signal corresponding to the variable-density of the pictures to said input signal in response to the level of the input signal. CONSTITUTION:The output of an ROM3 is multiplied by a random number which is produced from an X-direction pseudo random number generator 1 in synchrorization with an X-direction picture element clock 10 through a multiplier 2. As a result, an output equivalent to a random number DELTADX that can have only positive value is obtained. This output 12 is applied to an adder/ subtractor 4 together with a density input signal 11. Then the addition/subtraction is carried out to the clock 10 in response to a polarity signal 13 which is produced through an FF5. For the output 15, a polarity alternating random number which is dependent on the level of the input signal is added to the density input signal for the input signals up to the threshold value DXF. While a polarity alternating random number which is not dependent on the input signal level is added to the density signal to obtain such an input for the input signals larger than the value DXP.

    • PURPOSE:To easily obtain a desirable color compensating output, by converting a non-linear characteristic to a polynominal expression for making a color separation input signal a variable, and providing a means for giving a compensating coefficient value of each term as a parameter, in addition to a function value of its each term. CONSTITUTION:(c), (m) and (y) inputs 201 which have been A/D-converted are provided to an address input line of function term generators 202, and function values of secondary non-linear terms such as (c), (m), etc. which have been separated and stored in advance are read out. A multiplexer 203 leads selectively in order inputs of 10 terms such as a primary term, a secondary term, etc. to an output line 210 in accordance with a timing control signal 207, against one group of inputs. On the other hand, compensating coefficients are set in advance to an RAM 204 through a data line 208, and a function value and a compensating coefficient of each term are fetched in order by time series from each multiplexer 203 and the RAM 204 in accordance with a control signal 207. Subsequently, the matrix operation is executed by time series by use of a cumulative multiplier 205, and compensated outputs 209 of c0, m0 and y0 are obtained. In this way, a desirable color compensating output is obtained easily at a high speed.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a half-tone picture which is always stable and good in reproducibility, by providing a means which is able to freely change a gamma characteristic and also make a self-correction. CONSTITUTION:The stage 203 is provided with a recording head 204 and also a photoelectric conventer 205. The photoelectric converter 205 detects variable density of a picture on the recording medium, and sends the density information of a coordinate point correspondingly to the input data line 216 through the A/D converter 209. This data is inputted to the external computer 212 through the interface 211, and it is utilized for correcting a gamma characteristic. When correcting it, at first, the contents of the gamma conversion table memory 208 are initialized so that the gamma value becomes a linear characteristic of ''1''. Subsequently, in this state, a linear density tone data is generated by the external computer 212, it is provided to the output data line 214, and a half-tone patch is formed on the recording medium. When this density value is measured by the photoelectric converter 205 and the A/D converter 209, a density response characteristic of the equipment for a linear input can be known.
