摘要： A method which comprises subjecting fuel to combustion while the combustion atmosphere of the fuel is oscillated periodically and alternately between rich and lean conditions, leading the exhaust gas formed to a catalytic reactor, and bringing the exhaust gas into contact with a catalyst in the catalytic reactor to conduct catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides contained in the exhaust gas, wherein the catalyst comprises as catalyst components: (A) an oxide catalyst component A comprising (a) ceria or (b) praseodymium oxide or (c) a mixture of oxides and/or a composite oxide of at least two elements selected from the group consisting of cerium, zirconium, praseodymium, neodymium, terbium, samarium, gadolinium and lanthanum; and (B) (d) a noble metal catalyst component B selected from the group consisting of platinum, rhodium, palladium and oxides thereof; under an oxygen concentration adjusted to be in the range of 0.1-1.0% at the exit of the catalytic reactor under the rich conditions.

摘要： The invention provides a catalyst for catalytic direct decomposition of nitrogen oxides contained in exhaust gases wherein fuel is supplied and subjected to combustion under periodic rich/lean conditions and the resulting exhaust gases are brought into contact therewith, which catalyst comprises:(A) a first catalyst component comprising at least one metal selected from the group consisting of rhodium and palladium supported on zeolite;(B) a second catalyst component comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of(a) ceria,(b) praseodymium oxide, and(c) a mixture and/or a composite oxide of oxides of at least two elements selected from the group consisting of cerium, zirconium, praseodymium, neodymium, terbium, samarium, gadolinium and lanthanum; and(C) a third catalyst component comprising(a) at least one selected from the group consisting of platinum, rhodium, palladium and oxides thereof, and(b) a carrier.

摘要： The present invention relates to a particulate removing catalyst filter in which an oxidizing catalyst is carried on the surface portions of an air-permeable substrate to a depth, based on the substrate and the catalyst, of up to 19% measured from the exposed surface of the catalyst through which the exhaust gas is adapted to be passed, and to a particulate removing catalyst filter in which a catalyst is carried on a thin wire net or metallic plate having a plurality of fine through-holes. The exhaust gas from a diesel engine is forcibly passed through the filter, thereby to remove particulates in the exhaust gas.
