    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase change ink for an ink jet printer stick or pellet improved in performance with respect to scratch resistance and fold resistance.SOLUTION: A phase change ink composition comprises: an ink vehicle; an optional colorant; and ethylene vinyl acetate in an amount of about 0.1 to about 10 percent by weight based on the total weight of the phase change ink composition. The ethylene vinyl acetate is present in an amount of 0.5 to 5 percent by weight based on the total weight of the phase change ink composition. Alternatively, the ethylene vinyl acetate is present in an amount of 1.5 to 5 percent by weight based on the total weight of the phase change ink composition. Alternatively, the ethylene vinyl acetate is present in an amount of 3 to 5 percent by weight based on the total weight of the phase change ink composition. The ethylene vinyl acetate has a molecular weight average of 30,000 to 150,000 Daltons, a melting point of 45 to 120°C or a freezing point of 25 to 100°C, and a viscosity of 150 to 2,000 cps.
