    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring compound with a desired magenta color, thermal stability, light fastness, solubility to a phase transition ink carrier, rarely transferring or crystallizing in a printed ink layer, hard to discolor for a long time, miscible with the phase transition ink in a desired high concentration, and easily producible and easily convertible to a derivative thereof. SOLUTION: The compound is expressed by a structural formula 1. In the formula 1, Y is H or Br, n is an integer of 0-4, R 1 is an alkylene or arylalkylene, X is (a) H, (b) a group expressed by formula 2 (in the formula, R 2 is an alkyl, an aryl, an arylalkyl or an alkylaryl), (c) is an alkyleneoxy, aryleneoxy, arylalkyleneoxy or alkylaryleneoxy or (d) a group expressed by formula 3 (in the formula, R 4 is an alkyl, aryl, arylalkyl or alkylaryl).
