    • The present invention allows the cell shape of any base station in operation to be changed, thereby enabling services to be provided according to the needs. A mobile terminal attempts to synchronize with a perch channel to thereby check whether or not it can receive the signal, thereby determining whether it belongs to the cell of the base station. The mobile terminal uses the GPS to obtain location information to identify the location and notifies a cell control apparatus of results for cell determinations and location information. The cell control apparatus selects a base station for which the corresponding cell shape is to be changed, on the basis of the results for cell determinations and the location information. The cell control apparatus instructs the selected base station to change its cell shape. The base station changes its cell shape according to the instruction.

    • An apparatus is adapted to configure a virtual communication device that includes communication devices accessible to the apparatus. A signal interface receives from a calling communication device information data including first and second content parts, and an information separating unit separates the first and second content parts of the information data. A DMF unit identifies communication attributes of the communication devices accessible thereto and identifies the communication devices capable of processing information corresponding to at least one of the first and second content parts. A virtual terminal interface sends information corresponding to the first content part to a first communication device identified as being capable of processing the first content part and information corresponding to the second content part to a second communication device capable of processing the information of the second content part, to thereby form the virtual communication device by at least the first and second communication devices.

    • In a mobile communication system which uses a code division multiple access (CDMA) scheme for communications between a base station and a plurality of mobile stations, the base station has a transmitting device in which a plurality of information sequences S1 through Sn are respectively spread by multipliers 11 through 1n with a common spreading code from a spreading code generator circuit 10, the spread codes are provided to transmitting timing control circuits 21 through 2n and then added by an adder 30 to perform transmitting timing offset multiplexing and then the spread signals are transmitted to the mobile stations at different transmitting timing. The mobile stations each have a receiving device which receives that one of the transmitted signals which was transmitted at timing predetermined for the mobile station and despreads the received signal with the same spreading code as that used in the transmitting device, thereby reconstructing the original information sequence concerned.

    • In a message-transmitting station, a signal to be transferred is divided into a plurality of time slots, an error correcting/detecting code is added to each time slot, and a re-transmission sequence order number in unit of messages, a re-transmission number and an address designating ID of a terminal device are added to a specified time slot. Then, data of the time slots are transmitted from the message-transmitting station to a message-receiving station. In the message-receiving station, it is determined whether or not any order number is missing, by demodulating and decoding the data unit containing the re-transmission sequence order number and the address, and a re-transmission request signal is transferred in accordance with the result of the comparison between the sequence number included in the demodulated, decoded data unit and the sequence number received last as an indication of the condition in which the data in each data unit has reached the message-receiving station. Further, at least one of any specified and all of the time slots are re-transmitted from the message-transmitting station in accordance with the re-transmission request signal supplied from the message-receiving station.
