    • The present invention provides a game apparatus in the form of a chance device for use by a plurality of players in combination with a game board. The game board includes a central area and a playing area peripheral thereto with the playing area being defined by a path along which playing pieces are advanced by players of the game. In the preferred form, the playing path is an endless path defined by a series of playing stations. The central area of the board provides a support surface for the chance device. The chance device constitutes a receiver or depository device, preferably in the form of a wishing well or like structure, for receiving value or barter items, such as play coins, deposited therein through an opening. The depository device is partitioned to include a plurality of hidden compartments for receiving the value items at random from the opening. Each of the compartments has a movable wall portion for gaining access to the interior thereof for retrieving items as a reward during play of the game, as determined by a player's move or other rules of the game.

    • A game of skill of the type in which a ball traverses a generally flat surface and is propelled by tilting the surface whereby the player scores "points" by propelling the ball over the surface to targets thereon. The playing surface is formed as the upper surface of a playing board which is mounted on a central fulcrum to permit controlled tilting. The board also has legs spaced from the fulcrum for limiting the amount of tilting permissible during play of the game. The upper playing surface has a ball receiver which has a manually operable gate for opening the receiver and releasing the ball onto the playing surface. The targets are in the form of upstanding resiliently mounted plate members which can be knocked down by the ball by impact from a predetermined direction. The receiver gate is closed automatically after a given period of time by a timer which is started by the opening of the gate. The objective of the game is to release the ball from the receiver and knock down as many targets as possible and return the ball to the receiver before the gate closes, i.e., before the timed interval lapses. Traps in the form of depressions or the like are provided in the playing surface to penalize the player should the ball be manipulated into such traps.

    • A game apparatus in which dice are employed as a chance numerical selection device. The game apparatus includes an elongated base having generally parallel elongated sides. A plurality of flippers are pivotally mounted along the sides of the base for movement generally perpendicular thereto from outer positions to positions centrally between the sides where one flipper will be disposed on top of another. Identical numbers are disposed on both sides of opposite flippers whereby the uppermost flipper, when both flippers are in the central position, will cover the number on the lowermost flipper. A dice receiving receptacle is disposed at one end of the base into which dice may be thrown by the players of the game. The flippers are arranged so that the numbers are randomly disposed along the base and the flippers are removable for changing the random arrangement. Scoring means is provided along the base for opposing players of the game beneath the pivotal mounting of the flippers.

    • An electronic game playing device including an animated character and a synthesized voice. Game play instructions, required responses and awards, are contained in a program memory within a base on which the character is mounted. Carried by the base are a player input touch pad including the letters of the alphabet and individual player input buttons as well as a gridwork of lightable spaces. Animation of different features of the character is initiated at different times in response to audio signals emanating from the voice synthesis, or from an interfaced tape player, through an animation drive powered by a single motor. The animiation drive includes a shaft carrying relatively rotatable components some of which are rotated by other of the components after a predetermined amount of rotation by such other components. Movement of the character's mouth is accomplished by a second motor having a drive engaging the edge of an inner extension of the lower jaw.
