    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foundation structure and a construction method of the foundation structure, capable of reducing the cost while securing a sufficient bearing capacity, and extending the application range regardless of the hardness of the ground.
      SOLUTION: The ground in the vicinity of a pile tip of a steel pipe pile 2 is loosened after confirming that the pile tip reaches a support layer, and the load of an upper structure 4 is subsequently added thereto, whereby the steel pipe pile 2 is settled by the loosened portion to cause the pile tip to develop a bearing capacity RP1, and a bearing capacity SR is also obtained by action of ground reaction on the bottom surface of a pressure resisting slab 3 settling with the steel pipe pile 2. Accordingly, the bearing capacity of the pile tip can be sufficiently secured to enhance the overall bearing capacity (RP1+RP2+RS) of the foundation structure, and the foundation structure can be applied to a large-scaled building 1 while reducing the cost without increase of pile diameter or the number of piles. Further, since the settlement of the steel pipe pile 2 is hardly caused after the tip support force RP1 is exerted, uneven settlement can be prevented even if the surface layer ground is soft.
