    • This invention is directed to a camera which has an information setting device including an information setting member rotatable around a display device. The information setting member is provided with a window member which covers the display device and through which the indication displayed on the display device can be seen. The display device is supported on a frame which defines a camera body in association with a cover member surrounding the frame, while the information setting device is supported on the cover member. Accordingly, the size of both devices can be made large without necessity of enlarging the camera body in proportion to the size of the devices. Further, both devices can be assembled independently from each other. Namely, the information setting device is mounted on the cover member which is still separated from the frame. Meanwhile, the display device is mounted on the frame. Finally, the cover member with the information setting device and frame with the display device are assembled. Accordingly, the devices are easily assembled, inspected and adjusted.

    • An exposure display device for a camera, which can display not only the density of the background to be photographed on a film but also the density of a primary object to be focused with respect to an exposure control value used for exposure control operation. In natural light photography, the brightness of the primary object area at which automatic focus detection is conducted and the brightness of divided object field areas are measured, the density distribution of the primary object area and those of the divided object field areas reproduced on the film are calculated basing on the measurement, and the results are displayed in correspondence to the exposure control value. In flash light photography, the expected brightness of the primary object area and divided object field areas are measured, and the density distribution of the primary object area and object field areas reproduced on the film are calculated and displayed in correspondence to the exposure control value.

The camera accessory further includes a code signal producer which produces a code signal when an accessory is mounted on the camera so as to identify the type of the camera accessory, a receiver for receiving a digital signal from the camera, and a controller responsive to the code signal and the digital signal for controlling the data transmission from the camera accessory to the camera so that only the data of one group related to the particular camera accessory are transmitted to the camera.

    • A camera system having an interchangeable objective lens selectively mountable to at least two different types of camera bodies of a, first type and second type, is involved. The camera system has a ROM located in the interchangeable objective lens for storing a plurality of compensation data: one is suitable for the first type camera body; and the other is suitable for the second type camera body. Each data compensates an error in fully-open aperture light measurement for each type of camera. The compensation data is transmitted from the lens to the camera body. A register is provided in the camera body for storing a selected compensation data which is necessary for the type of camera body mounted with the lens. A device is provided in the camera body for practicing a fully-open aperture light measurement through the interchangeable objective lens to produce a light measuring information including the light measurement error. A calculator is provided in the camera body for calculating a correct exposure information using the compensation data stored in the register and the light measuring signal, whereby the error included in the light measuring signal can be removed.

    • An exposure control arrangement for use in photographic cameras employing digital circuitry and a microprocessor for practical and rational exposure control of the photographic camera through simple construction at high reliability. The arrangement utilizes a single A-D converter to digitize various analog signals corresponding to the measured light value, set exposure time, set film sensitivity, etc. A single timer circuit to generate substantially all of the time references is used by the arrangement. The microprocessor, connected to the timer circuit and A-D converter controls the operation of the arrangement. The commonality of usage of the A-D converter, timer circuit, and microprocessor decreases the arrangement's size, cost, and complexity while increasing the arrangement's overall reliability.

When the scene brightness is outside of an available range for the exposure control circuit, a detecting circuit generates an output to make inoperative the delay circuit and the self-maintaining circuit so that the exposure control circuit and the electromagnetic means are not actuated. The delay circuit may also be used for self-timer photography.
