    • Disclosed is a process for producing compound C represented by formula C: wherein R′ represents straight chain, branched chain, or cyclic C2-6 alkylcarbonyl, wherein R1b is used as a protective group for hydroxyl at the 7-position of compound C. R1b represents formyl; optionally substituted straight chain C1-4 alkylcarbonyl; optionally substituted benzyl; group —SiR3R4R5 optionally substituted by halogen atom wherein R3, R4, and R5 each independently represent straight chain or branched chain C1-6 alkyl or phenyl; C1-6 alkyloxy-C1-6 alkyl optionally substituted by halogen atom; C1-6 alkylthio-C1-6 alkyl optionally substituted by halogen atom; straight chain, branched chain, or cyclic C1-4 alkyl optionally substituted by halogen atom, provided that, when alkyl in the C1-4 alkyl group is of a branched chain or cyclic type, the alkyl group is C3-4 alkyl; C2-6 alkenyl optionally substituted by halogen atom; C2-6 alkynyl optionally substituted by halogen atom; or an optionally substituted saturated or unsaturated five- or six-membered heterocyclic group. The process can produce pyripyropene derivatives that have acyloxy groups at the 1- and 11-positions and a hydroxyl group at the 7-position and are useful as insect pest control agents at a high yield.

    • A magnetic sheet of the present invention comprises: 400 to 1,900 parts by weight of at least one kind of magnetic particles selected from the group consisting of magnetoplumbite-structure ferrite particles and rare-earth magnet particles, as a filler; and 100 parts by weight of a binder comprising 50 to 95% by weight of at least one thermoplastic elastomer selected from the group consisting of a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer resin, a styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene block copolymer resin and an ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber, and 5 to 50% by weight of at least one soft polyolefin selected from the group consisting of a propylene homopolymer and a propylene-ethylene copolymer. Such magnetic sheet is excellent in flexibility, mechanical properties, storage stability and product stability, and wherein the content of magnetic particles can be considerably enhanced notwithstanding the amounts of plasticizer and lubricant used therein are considerably minimized.

    • A solid state image pick-up apparatus including an objective lens for forming an image of an object, and a color separation optical system for dividing said image of the object into four color images, e.g. first and second green images, a red image and a blue image, one of said four color images being right and left reversed, first to fourth solid state image sensors for receiving said four color images respectively to derive first and second green color signals, a red color signal and a blue color signal. Light receiving elements of said first solid state image sensor are shifted with respect to those of the second solid state image sensor by a half of a pitch at which these light receiving elements are arranged in a horizontal scanning direction to perform a so-called offset-site pick-up. The first and second green image signals are mixed with each other at an ideal ratio of 1:1 to derive a green color signal. An image signal derived from one of said four solid state image sensors which receives said right and left reversed image is processed by a reverse circuit. Said green color signal, red color signal and blue color signal are supplied to a luminance matrix and are mixed therein to produce a luminance signal having a high resolution.
