    • A method of optimizing repeat request cycles between transmitter and receiver of a wireless communication network as well as a base station and a mobile station that are adapted to execute the inventive method. A first data packet that is transmitted from a base station to a mobile station is stored preferably by means of a softbuffer module and becomes subject to a decoding procedure. In case of failure the failed decoding procedure is further analyzed preferably in combination with the status of the softbuffer module. In this way information is generated that is indicative of a reason of failure and that allows to specify a different portion and/or different redundancy version for the transmission of a subsequent data packet. Preferably, the mobile station itself specifies a required type of data or a required type of redundancy version that is needed for a sufficient decoding and/or recovering of transmitted data by means of the mobile station. Hence, a retransmission can be entirely determined by the mobile station by effectively exploiting information that has been obtained from previous data packet transmissions.

    • The invention provides a resource allocation method for a network element adapted for multimedia broadcast and synchronized services in a mobile communication system, the mobile communication system comprising a plurality of base stations synchronized for data transmission, the method comprising: inputting a set of synchronized subframe numbers per radio frame and a total number of radio frames, wherein each radio frame contains a predefined number of subframes; selecting a first value of the set of synchronized subframe numbers; first allocating the first value as a number of synchronized subframes per frame to the total number of radio frames; second allocating the first value as the number of synchronized subframes per frame to a first half of the total number of radio frames, if the first allocating step is not performed; and selecting a second value of the set of synchronized subframe numbers. The method further comprises: third allocating the second value as the number of synchronized subframes per frame to the first half of the total number of radio frames, if the first and second allocating step is not performed; forth allocating the second value as the number of synchronized subframes per frame to a second half of the total number of radio frames, if the second allocating step is performed; selecting a third value of the set of synchronized subframe numbers; wherein one of the allocating steps is performed according to bandwidth requirements of the multimedia broadcast and synchronized services.

    • Disclosed are methods and systems adapted to provide mixing of a liquid reagent in an automated clinical analyzer. The methods include aspirating an air separator (e.g., an air slug) into the interior of a probe. A relatively small volume of reagent liquid is also aspirated into the probe adjacent to the air separator; the volume of liquid reagent being entirely contained within the probe. The volume of liquid reagent may be repeatedly aspirated and dispensed at a relatively high frequency to accomplish reagent mixing in the reagent container. Improved sample and reagent mixing may be promoted using a similar method. Systems carrying out the methods are provided, as are other aspects.

    • The invention relates to a method for uplink transmission interference limitation in a wireless communications system comprising a mobile network arranged in a radio cell configuration, each cell comprising a serving base station providing communications service to at least one user terminal inside the cell area, the method comprising the steps of selecting and forcing a first group of cell-associated terminals to stop transmission for a certain period of time selecting a second group of terminals for measuring the signal power present at their uplink transmission frequency; calculating an indication of the interference level generated by at least the second group of selected terminals in at least one neighboring cell; selecting a third group of cell-associated terminals and setting their uplink transmission power to a certain value according to the calculated interference level.
