    • A repair material and a repairing method, in which partial repair for faulty portions of a pipeline such as a sewerage pipe is surely effected in fewer working processes and in a short time. A repair material (1) is used which is composed of at least two layered cylinders with an elastic inner layer (2) held in an outer layer (3) in contracted condition. The repair material is introduced into a pipeline to be taken to a location where the pipeline should be repaired, and the outer layer is removed to cause spontaneous diametrical expansion of the inner layer for close adherence to an inner surface of the pipeline. In the case where the pipeline is small in diameter, the outer layer (3) is removed outside the pipeline and only the elastic inner layer (2) is introduced into the pipeline to be conveyed to a location where the pipeline should be repaired. Before the outer layer (3) is removed outside the pipeline the repair material is cooled to temporarily delay a diametrically enlarging speed of the inner layer. Conveyed to a location where the pipeline should be repaired, the inner layer is heated.

    • An optical connector which correctly sets a protruding length of an optical fiber (5) protruding from a connection end face (16) of a ferrule (1), a method of setting the protruding length of the optical fiber of this optical connector and a jig therefor are described. A recessed surface (33) is formed in a ferrule receiving surface (32). The depth of the recess surface (33) is set to be equal to the protruding length of the optical fiber (5) protruding from the connection end face (16) of the ferrule (1). The ferrule (1) is clamped by ferrule clamping members (35a and 35b) and is pressed to the ferrule receiving surface (32) by the urging force of a compression spring (36). An optical fiber core wire (3) is passed through the ferrule (1), is allowed to protrude from the connection end face (16) of the ferrule (1) and is butted against the recess surface (33). The optical fiber core wire (3) is clamped by a core wire clamping member (41), which is urged toward the ferrule receiving face (32) by the urging force of a compression spring (42) so that the distal end of the optical fiber (5) is brought into pressure contact with the recess surface (33). An adhesive is charged under this state into an adhesive charging hole (43) of the ferrule (1) so as to bond and fix the optical fiber (5) to the ferrule (1), and an optical connector whose optical fiber (5) is allowed to protrude by a predetermined length from the connection end face (16) can be obtained.
