    • A panel mounted connector removably mountable to an opening of a panel includes: a male connector (43); and a female connector (41) mated with the male connector. The female connector includes a female connector housing (45) formed with an engagement hood portion (47) having an inner cavity engaged with the male connector and an outer periphery engaged with the mount opening (51) of the panel (P). The engagement hood portion is further formed with a pair of hood cutout portions (53, 55). The female connector housing is further formed with a pair of flexible lock arms (57, 59), each having a lock claw (61, 63) engageable with an edge of the opening of the panel at a free end thereof, for locking the female connector with the panel. When locked with the panel opening, the lock claws are kept pinched between the engaged male connector and the edge of the panel opening within the hood cutout portions formed in the engagement hood portions, respectively.

    • A connector housing assembly used for connection in an electrical wiring and having a pair of connector housings capable of being fitted to each other. A locking arm is provided on one of the pair of connector housings, while a lock hook capable of receiving the locking arm is provided on the other connector housing. The locking arm extends in the direction of fitting of the connector housings and forms a free end portion at its fitting end. The locking arm has an engagement projection and an operating lever extending in the direction opposite to the direction toward the free end. To detach the connector housings from each other, the operating lever is moved upward to be rotated on a fulcrum so as to downwardly move the free end portion of the locking arm, thereby unlocking the locking arm. Thus, a locking arm having an operating lever is provided to form a lock mechanism improved in handling, which enables a pair of connector housings to be easily fitted to or detached from each other.

    • In the present invention, a terminal retainer is mounted on a rear portion of a connector housing so as to move in a two-stage manner, that is, between a provisionally-connected condition and a completely-connected condition, and a metal terminal can be immediately withdrawn in the provisionally-connected condition and can be positively engaged with metal terminals. According to the present invention, flexible support pieces each having a terminal retaining projection having a tapered relief engagement surface for a metal terminal are provided on a terminal retainer. A provisionally-retaining projection for provisionally retaining the terminal retainer is provided at a connector housing. In the provisionally-connected condition of the terminal retainer, by pulling the metal terminal, the terminal retainer is retracted via the tapered relief engagement surfaces, and at the same time the flexible support piece is caused to slide onto the retaining projection to be disposed out of the path of movement of the metal terminal.

    • A male terminal in which a connection portion can be easily shaped, and deformation of the connection portion is prevented so as to ensure an electrical connection of the connection portion to a female terminal. The connection portion is formed at a front end of the male terminal, and is adapted to be electrically connected to a female terminal. The connection portion includes a bottom base portion and a contact portion, and the connection portion is bent and folded, with the contact portion superposed on the bottom base portion. A curved recess (reinforcement portion) is formed by bending at a generally central portion of the contact portion, and the reinforcement portion projects into an internal space of the connection portion, and is held in contact with the bottom base portion. By thus forming the curved reinforcement portion at the contact portion, and by holding the reinforcement portion in contact with the bottom base portion, the strength of the contact portion is increased. Therefore, when an external force acts on the contact portion or the bottom base portion, the contact portion and the bottom base portion are positively prevented from being deformed or crushed into the space.
