    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pellet for forming an oxygen-absorbing resin article, from which the oxygen-absorbing resin article with a short induction period for oxygen absorption can be formed, without using a plenty of oxidation catalyst. SOLUTION: The pellet for forming the oxygen-absorbing resin article is a resin pellet containing a thermoplastic resin (A) and a carrier-free oxidation catalyst (B), which is characterized by having absorbed 0.2 ml/g or more of oxygen after pellet formation. The pellet can be produced by melt kneading the thermoplastic resin(A) and the carrier-free oxidation catalyst (B) in a non-oxidative atmosphere to form the resin pellet, and allowing the resultant pellet to absorb oxygen under an oxidative atmosphere at 40°C or higher.
