    • A flashlight emitting device for a camera wherein the flash coverage of a flash device is varied, only when a mode in which flashlight is to be emitted is selected, in response to a zooming operation to assure appropriate exposure and eliminate wasteful consumption of power. The device comprises flashlight emitting means, mode changing over means operable in response to operation of a manually operable member for selecting one of a first mode in which daylight photographing is to be performed and a second mode in which the flashlight emitting means may be rendered operative to effect flashlight photographing, exposure controlling means for effecting exposure control in accordance with a selected mode, driving means for varying the flash coverage of the flashlight emitting means between a tele side and a wide side in response to a variation of the focal length of a lens of the camera, and driving controlling means for rendering the driving means inoperative when the first mode is selected by the mode changing over means but enabling operation of the driving means when the second mode is selected by the mode changing over means.

    • An exposure display device for a camera, which can display not only the density of the background to be photographed on a film but also the density of a primary object to be focused with respect to an exposure control value used for exposure control operation. In natural light photography, the brightness of the primary object area at which automatic focus detection is conducted and the brightness of divided object field areas are measured, the density distribution of the primary object area and those of the divided object field areas reproduced on the film are calculated basing on the measurement, and the results are displayed in correspondence to the exposure control value. In flash light photography, the expected brightness of the primary object area and divided object field areas are measured, and the density distribution of the primary object area and object field areas reproduced on the film are calculated and displayed in correspondence to the exposure control value.

    • A photographic information setting device for a camera according to the present invention includes a film speed reader which reads out a film speed value provided on a film container, a micro computer and three memories. A first memory is for storing a film speed value of a film in use, a second memory is for storing a film speed value of a film used immediately before the film in use, and a third memory is for storing a film speed value to be used in deciding an exposure value for a camera. The micro computer compares the film speed values in the first and second memories and, when the two values are the same, it controls in such a manner that the film speed value in the third memory may not be altered. On the other hand, when the two values are different, the micro computer controls in such a manner that the film speed value in the first memory may be stored in the second and third memories.
