    • A parallax compensation system in a camera finder includes a mirror surface mounted to a mounting member. The mounting member is rotatably mounted to a mounting frame having protrusions about which the mounting member rotates such that the mounting member is rotatable about an axis defined on the mirror surface. A cam mechanism is rotatably mounted on a top surface of the mounting frame for regulation of the mounting member to have a predetermined position. An urging member biases the mounting member against the cam mechanism, so that when the cam mechanism is rotated, the mounting member is rotated about its axis according to a cam surface of the cam mechanism. The mounting member is rotated about the axis of the mirror surface to change an optical axis of the same to compensate for parallax.

    • In a camera adapted to be sealed against water, the camera having a reciprocating lens barrel, a member for detecting water around the camera, and for controlling the lens barrel, so that the lens barrel will not be moved when water is detected by the detecting member. In another embodiment the camera is provided with a member for detecting water at a certain hydraulic pressure and a member for indicating an alarm when water at such a pressure is detected. Thus, by immobilizing the lens barrel, it is possible to prevent water damage to the camera that might result if the camera were submerged and the lens barrel moved.

    • An image recording apparatus includes a head for ejecting ink, a moving mechanism for moving a recording medium, and a control part for controlling these constituent elements. The control part includes an information storage part, a conversion part, and a correction part. The conversion part converts input image data into converted image data which is suitable for image recording. The information storage part stores an LUT indicating a relation between the input image data and the converted image data for each head and each type of recording medium. The correction part updates the LUT on a representative recording medium on the basis of correction amounts determined in accordance with reference images which are recorded onto the representative recording medium and further updates the LUT on another type of recording medium. By virtue of providing this correction part, it is possible to simplify a correcting operation of recording densities.

    • The present invention provides a database system capable of dealing with dynamic changes in an event that vary continuously with time. A database system outputs a retrieval output from data in response to a user's retrieval request on the basis of a retrieval logic. The retrieval logic is allowed to evolve on the basis of a logical model. This logical model establishes a general relationship which leads results from conditions relating to a group of events that are dealt by a data group. Moreover, a database system optimizes a data structure on the basis of the logical model. The logical model can be transferred in a separated manner from the specific data contents of the data group. Therefore, the logical model can be exported to another database system of the same kind, and also imported from another data base system of the same kind.
