      SOLUTION: When it is assumed that the inside diameter of a cylindrical cup part-shaped part 4 and an axial length of an area which is formed on the opening side of the cylindrical cup part 4 without impregnating the emitter are R and L, respectively, the electrode head 3 of this discharge lamp 11 is so formed as to satisfy a relationship of L>R.

The cold-cathode fluorescent lamp is connected to the power feeding member in a state that the recessed contact face of the conductor is adhered to the end face part of the current conductor layer in which the power feeding member is connected to the power supply.

      SOLUTION: The lighting apparatus is provided with a discharging medium sealed in an inside of a transparent glass lamp tube on an inside wall of which a phosphor layer and of which the both ends are sealed, a plurality of external electrode fluorescent lamps 3, arranged in parallel, having a current conductor layer 2 on a circumference of both ends of the glass lamp tube 3 arranged, and each of both ends of a plurality of external electrode discharge lamp is connected with a common electrode member 4 and a high frequency wave voltage is impressed between both of the electrode members 4 to make a discharge lighting. The electrode member is provided, in respective positions of both sides of the glass lamp tube in a but axial direction, with a plurality of elastic clip pieces 51 at least on one side and one or a plurality of elastic clip pieces 52 on the other side, each of clip pieces arranged at deviated positions each other in a tube axial direction, and the current conductor layer of the glass lamp tube is gripped elastically between the elastic clip pieces 51, 52 arranged on both sides in the tube axial direction.
