摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the failure of voltage resistance by providing a mesh on the surface of a getter that is filled up in a container. CONSTITUTION:A container 1 is filled with a getter 2. A mesh 3 is provided on the surface of the container and the size of the mesh 3 is made smaller than a shadow mask slot. The mesh 3 has a meshy structure with a slant only on one side and is created by the etching method. 4, A, B, and C show a funnel, the electrode side, the panel side, and the direction of getter spray, respectively. A mask is prevented from being clogged by using the getter 2 provided with the mesh 3 even when dirt appears. Besides, since the getter spray direction (C) is restricted only to the direction of the panel side (B), and the getter is prevented from adhering to the electrode of an electron gun due to the getter back flash. This is favorable from a viewpoint of voltage resistance.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of relative positioning by a method wherein the contact portions of a glass bulb and a glass stem are joined together via a metal ring coated with glass having a low melting point, and then the bulb and the stem are melted and tightly joined together by heating the metal ring through the high-frequency heating method. CONSTITUTION:A ring-shaped projection 3g is formed above a stem 3e. A ring- shaped sealing member 10 consisting of a thin ring metal 10a and a low melting point glass member 10b covering the surface of the metal ring are concentrically provided between the end surface of a neck tube 1a and the projection 3g to be sealed together. A high frequency dielectric heating coil 12 is also concentrically provided on the periphery of and centering around a portion 11 to be sealed and power is supplied to heat and melt the portion for sealing purposes. In so doing, the positioning of the neck tube and the stem can be made highly accurate.

Next, NGP area forming solution having a prescribed composition is applied (by the use of airless spray gun for low viscosity sold at a market, and the amount of solution to be used is, for example, 20ml, and for about 30 minutes) on this film like CTE area 8 by means of a spraying method so as to form a film like NGP area 9. Further, by carrying out drying by heating, for example, at 150 deg.C for 30 minutes, strong film like CTE area 8 and film like NGP area 9 can be obtained. This CRT has a wide and stable optical characteristic and high contrast, and prevents panel electrification caused by electrostatic induction, and prevents reflection.

Said exhaust pipe 1 is fused, at its top edge part 5 onto a glass vacuum container 2, and left as a projection on the glass vacuum container 2 in the state of cut-out through pressurization. Said projection is utilized as a high-voltage terminal.
