摘要： An electrical machine to facilitate transporting fluids through a pipeline is provided. The machine includes a stator, a rotor magnetically coupled to the stator, and a housing enclosing the rotor and the stator. The housing includes a wall that facilitates channeling a first fluid at a first pressure through a portion of the housing. The machine also includes a stator enclosure defined by at least one wall that facilitates maintaining a second fluid within the stator enclosure. The stator enclosure is positioned within the electric machine housing. The stator enclosure has at least one wall that substantially isolates the second fluid from the first fluid such that only the second fluid is in flow communication with the stator. The stator enclosure has at least one wall that facilitates heat transfer from the second fluid to the first fluid. At least a portion of at least one of the stator enclosure walls is configured to facilitate equalizing the first pressure and the second pressure.

摘要： A holder for a lamp bulb comprises an insulating housing having a terminal receiving part and a socket for the lamp bulb. The terminal receiving part defines first, second and third terminal receiving cavities opening into a terminal receiving end of the housing. One of the cavities receives an electrical terminal having a spring contact beam projecting into the socket for engaging one contact of the lamp bulb, and a slot receiving one lead of a diode. Another of the cavities receives an electrical terminal having a slot for receiving the other lead of the diode and a further slot for receiving a first supply lead. When these two terminals have been inserted into their cavities, a third terminal is inserted into its cavity, after the leads of the diode have been securely lodged in the diode receiving slots of the first two terminals. The third terminal has a spring contact beam which projects into the socket for engaging the other contact of the bulb, and a slot for receiving a second supply lead. All of the slots of the terminals open towards the terminal receiving end of the housing.

摘要： A sensor measures temperature in stationary components of electrical machines using fiber optics. An optical fiber is embedded in a non-metallic ribbon. Notches are cut in the ribbon to effect bends that accommodate a shape of a stationary component. The ribbon and optical fiber are attached to the stationary component. A series of laser pulses can be injected from at least one end of the optical fiber, and the stationary component temperature can be monitored by interrogation of reflections from the series of laser pulses.
