    • A synchronous communication system (referred to as system hereinafter) includes one host and at least one peripheral carrying out synchronous communication with the host under control of the host in a predetermined order. When a plurality of adjacent systems are present, the system includes a transmission unit, a reception unit, an error count unit, a packet count unit and a communication timing control unit in the host. The transmission unit transmits a control packet to a peripheral. The reception unit receives from a peripheral a response packet corresponding to the control packet transmitted from the transmission unit. The error count unit counts the number of occurred communication errors and the number of times a response packet was not received by the reception unit within a constant period where synchronous communication is carried out. The packet count unit counts how many of packets transferred in another system is received by the reception unit in the constant period. The communication timing control unit provides adjustment to delay the synchronous communication start timing when determination is made according to the count results that communication interference is occurring between the systems.

    • To provide a wheel steering apparatus capable of exhibiting a stabilized vehicle steerability without transmitting an external disturbance torque to a motor rotor even when the wheel receives an axially acting external force, this wheel steering apparatus includes a reciprocatingly movable rod 3 drivingly connected with a support member 2 for steerably supporting a wheel 1, and a ball screw mechanism 5 for reciprocatingly moving the rod 3 in response to rotation of a drive motor 4. In a rotational transmission system for transmitting rotation of the drive motor 4 to a nut member 5b of the ball screw mechanism 5, a clutch assembly 6 defining a reverse input limiting means is provided for preventing a rotar of the drive motor 4 from being rotated by the external force acting on the wheel 1. This clutch assembly 6 used is of a design wherein although rotation can be transmitted from an input shaft to an output shaft, no rotation is transmitted from the output shaft to the input shaft.

    • Disclosed are methods for producing films of a composite comprising a metal oxide in combination with one or more other oxides or metals as a third component, or a composite comprising a metal oxide doped with metal ions as a third component, methods for producing titanium oxide coating layers having transparency, low peeling property and weather resistance, which are comparable to or even more excellent than those of conventional ones, as well as surface hardness comparable to that of coating films produced by using sintering, on plastic substrates, and methods for producing titanium oxide which exhibits photocatalytic activity even with light of visible light range. These methods do not require a treatment at a high temperature. Also disclosed are anti-fogging materials excellent in anti-fogging property, which have transparency, peeling property and weather resistance, which are comparable to or even more excellent than those of conventional ones, as well as surface hardness comparable to that of coating films produced by using sintering, and have excellent photocatalytic function of titanium oxide and a reflectance lower than titanium oxide.
