    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an achromatic electrophotographic transparent toner having excellent low-temperature fixability, hot offset resistance, high gloss, uniform glossiness and heat-resistant storage property and to provide a method for producing the toner.SOLUTION: A method for producing an electrophotographic transparent toner includes: a mixing step of mixing toner raw materials including at least a binder resin, a crystalline polyester resin having a melting point (mp: a peak top value in a first run of DSC) of 80 to 130°C measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) of the crystalline polyester resin, a releasing agent and a lubricant; and a melt-kneading step of melting and kneading the mixture of the toner raw materials obtained in the mixing step, in a kneading machine while controlling the temperature to be equal to or lower than the melting point of the crystalline polyester resin. The achromatic electrophotographic transparent toner is obtained by cooling, pulverizing and classifying the melt-kneaded product obtained in the melt-kneading step.

The toner comprises: base particles which have a volume average particle diameter of 3.0 to 6.0 μm, in which the toner content having a number-basis particle diameter of 4.0 μm or less is 30% or more by number and in which the toner content having a number-basis particle diameter of 2.0 μm or less is 10% or less by number; and an inorganic fine powder material (comprising an inorganic fine powder material A having a BET specific surface area of 30 to 90 m/g and an inorganic fine powder material B having a BET specific surface area of 100 to 250 m/g) externally added to the base particles.
