    • PURPOSE:To enable production of a metal material having high cracking sensibility to hot rolling and hot extruding can be executed by producing a combined cast billet covering the metal material having high cracking sensibility with a metal material having excellent workability with a horizontal continuous casting. CONSTITUTION:In a vessel 1a, the molten metal 3 having easy-to-work and in a vessel 1b, the molten metal 4 having high cracking sensibility are poured, respectively. The molten metal 3 is introduced in a mold 5 through a pouring hole 1d and solidified shell 11 is formed at inner face to be the outer layer 7b of the cast billet 7. The molten metal 4 is poured into unsolidified part in the cast billet 7 from outlet through a pouring tube 6 and cooled and solidified to be the inner layer 7a of the cast billet 7 and the combined cast billet is cast with the horizontal continuous casting. In the cooling and solidifying process of the molten metals 3, 4, as the flow of the molten metal 3 poured from the pouring hole 1d and the molten metal 4 poured from the pouring tube 6 are restricted at a static magnetic field zone 9, mutual mixture is restrained. By this method, the combined cast billet is obtd., and by executing hot working to this, spreading material having good surface characteristic is obtd.

    • PURPOSE:To continuously cast a complex steel having a little mixture between the layer and clean boundary by supplying different kinds of metals at upper and lower parts of traversed static magnetic field having a distance from the molten surface in a mold under relation of the specific equation about thickness of solidified surface layer, drawing velocity and solidified velocity of cast slab. CONSTITUTION:Magnets 8 are arranged at the position, which the distance (l) toward casting direction from the molten surface in the mold 1 has relation of the equation to the thickness (d) f solidified surface layer, the drawing velocity (v) and the solidified velocity (f) in the slab 9 and the static magnetic field 10 traversing whole width of cast slab 9 is formed. The molten metal for forming the surface layer is supplied above the static magnetic field 10 by a submerged nozzle 2 and the molten metal for forming the inner layer is supplied below the static magnetic field 10 by a submerged nozzle 3. By suitably controlling the balance of each supplied rate, the fluidity of the molten metal is braked at the magnetic force part 10 and the lower part supplied metal shell is solidified at inside of the upper part supplied at inside of the upper part supplied metal shell 5 on the surface layer. By restraining the mixture between layers to the min., the complex steel 9 having clean boundary is continuously cast.
