    • Methods and arrangements in a base station and a User Equipment are provided. The methods and arrangements relates to the scenario when the UE is handed over from a source base station to a target base station in a handover scenario, and wherein the target base station may not support functionalities which the source base station and the UE support. The method in the UE comprises receiving (501) a configuration message from the target base station via the source base station, configuring (502) the UE based on the received configuration message from the target base station by searching (503) for a second field in an information element of the received configuration message. The presence/non-presence or a value of the second field is indicative of how to manage a configured first functionality associated with an optional first field, wherein the configured first functionality may not be supported by the target base station.

    • A method of performing congestion notification for a data transmission (10) from a sender (14) to a receiver (11) is described. Furthermore, nodes for such a transmission as well as methods of controlling such nodes are described. The data transmission involves a first node (12) and a second node (13) between said sender and receiver. The data packets pass from said second node to said first node towards said receiver. The method comprises: —sending (S82) a message (15) from said first node to said second node, said message relating to a decision on whether to notify said receiver of a congestion condition in said data transmission, —sending (S83) an explicit congestion notification (16) from said second node to said receiver if it is decided to notify said receiver of said congestion condition.

    • Methods and apparatus for producing a compressed buffer status report (400) for use in a wireless network are disclosed. In several of the disclosed embodiments, a wireless terminal (160) forms a compressed buffer status report (400) that includes a field (410) of one or more bits that indicate an overall status corresponding to all or substantially all of the uplink data buffers for the wireless terminal (160), along with one or more fields (420) that indicate buffer status for specific corresponding radio bearers or groups of radio bearers. Accordingly, a small buffer report (410) may be sent in-band with the uplink data transmission, such as in headers (810) of one or more MAC packet data units (800), to convey information about the status of the wireless terminal's buffers, both for all the buffers (i.e., collectively), and for each of several high-priority radio bearers or groups of radio bearers.
