摘要： A method and system for generating and searching a tree-structured index of window vectors that represent database sequences comprise a window vector generation module, a tree-structured index generation module, a query sequence partitioning module, and a retrieval component. The window vector generation module partitions a database sequence into a plurality of overlapping windows. Each window has a fixed length W comprising a fixed number of nucleotides, and the offset among windows is determined by a parameter Δ. The window vector generation module then maps each database sequence window into a window vector. The database sequence window vector indicates the frequency of appearance of each k-tuple in the corresponding database sequence window. The tree-structured index generation module then generates a tree-structured index using the database sequence window vectors. The query sequence partitioning module partitions a query sequence into a plurality of windows and maps each query sequence window into a query sequence window vector. Each query sequence window vector is then compared against the tree-structured index to locate the database sequences that are similar to the query sequence. The list database sequences that are similar to the sequence is then returned as the result of the search.

摘要： A novel small-area NDR-based circuit can be used to implement a variety of semiconductor circuits, including high-density SRAM cells and power thyristor structures. In one example embodiment, the NDR-based circuit uses a thin vertical PNPN structure (10) with capacitively-coupled gate-assisted turn-off and turn-on mechanisms. An SRAM based on this new cell is comparable in cell area, standby current, architecture, speed, and fabrication process to a DRAM of the same capacity. In one embodiment, an NDR-based SRAM cell consists of only two elements, can operate at high speeds and low voltages, has a good noise-margin, and is compatible in fabrication process with main-stream CMOS. This cell significantly reduces standby power consumption.

摘要： A high bandwidth RF sampler using equivalent time sampling comprising an RF coplanar waveguide integrated with sampling diodes on a gallium arsenide substrate. A monolithic, integrated nonlinear transmission line is integrated on the same substrate to receive sample pulses. These pulses are reshaped by the nonlinear transmission line to have a very fast edge. This edge is differentiated by a shunt inductance of a short circuit termination of a slot line portion of the RF signal coplanar waveguide. The resulting delta function sample pulses cause the sample diodes and integrated capacitors to develop an intermediate output frequency which is a replica of the RF signal at a lower frequency and no voltage conversion loss. RF signals of up to 300 Ghz can be sampled using this circuit.

摘要： In a gas turbine engine, a capacitive sensor is used for measuring a tip clearance of a radial compressor section (13) thereof, and an actuator (25) is used for axially displacing a rotor shaft (12, 20) in response to an output from the capacitive sensor. Because the capacitive change gives an accurate measure of the size of the tip clearance, where the tip clearance is small and tip clearance control is possible.
