摘要： A novel graft polymer useful in various uses that has a polyolefin backbone having polyolefin segments excellent in moldability can be obtained by homopolymerizing a novel polyolefin macromonomer or polymerizing the novel polyolefin macromonomer in the coexistence of other olefins depending on need, wherein the macromonomer has at the terminal of its polyolefin chain a vinyl group whose α-position may be substituted, and the macromonomer can be efficiently obtained by a method, for example, successively carrying out i) a step of producing a polyolefin having a hydroxyl group at the terminal of the polyolefin chain and ii) a step of converting the terminal hydroxyl group of the polyolefin in chain into an acryloyl group, a methacryloyl group or a styryl group.

摘要： The present invention relates to a polymer having a melt tension (MT (g)) substantially the same as or lower than that of a conventional polymer which is substantially the same as the polymer in the recurring unit of the main skeleton, the molecular weight, the molecular weight distribution and the crystallinity, and having a flow activation energy (Ea (KJ/mol)) larger than a value obtained by adding 5 KJ/mol to the Ea value of the conventional polymer. A preferred example of the polymer is a branched polyolefin comprising 50 to 100% by mol of recurring units derived from ethylene and 0 to 50% by mol of recurring units derived from an α-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms and having the following properties: the flow activation energy (Ea (KJ/mol)) and the α-olefin content (C (% by weight)) satisfy a specific relation, and the melt tension (MT (g)) and the melt flow rate (MFR (g/10 min)) satisfy a specific relation. This branched polyolefin is excellent in moldability and mechanical strength.

摘要： The present invention provides ethylene polymers capable of preparing various molded articles such as films, sheets or the like, and having excellent moldability, particularly excellent high-speed moldability. The ethylene polymers of the present invention have a density and molecular weight distribution in specific ranges. The first ethylene polymer is characterized by having (C) a ratio (MFR10/MFR2) of a melt flow rate (MFR10) at 190° C. under a load of 10 Kg to a melt flow rate (MFR2) at 190° C. under a load of 2.16 Kg of from 16.2 to 50. The second ethylene polymer is characterized by having (C) a ratio (MFR10/MFR2) from 12 to 50. The third ethylene polymer is characterized by having (D) a relation of ω2/ω1≧18 where ω1 and ω2 denote angular velocity (rad/sec) when complex elastic modulus G*(dyne/cm2) at 200° C. is 5.0×105 dyne/cm2 and 2.0×106 dyne/cm2, respectively, which are determined by measurement of the angular velocity dependence of the complex elastic modulus of the copolymer.

摘要： A process for producing an alpha-olefin polymer, which comprises polymerizing an alpha-olefin in the presence of a catalyst formed from (A) a transition metal compound comprising (A-1) a transition metal atom, (A-2) a hetero atom-containing ligand containing a heteroatom selected from oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen and phosphorus capable of forming a bond with the transition metal atom, and (A-3) a ligand having a conjugated .pi. electron through which the ligand can be bonded to the transition metal atom (A-1), and (B) an aluminoxane. The transition metal compound may be pre-treated with (C) an organometallic compound, or (D) a halogen-containing inorganic compound of an element of Group III, IV or V of the periodic table.

摘要： A liquid modified ethylenic random copolymer selected from an epoxidization product of a liquid ethylenic random copolymer of ethylene and an alpha-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms and a hydroxylation product of a liquid ethylenic random copolymer of ethylene and an alpha-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms. The modified copolymer is characterized in that (i) the liquid modified ethylenic random copolymer has an ethylene component content of 10 to 85 mole % and an alpha-olefin component content of 15 to 90 mole %, (ii) in the .sup.13 C-NMR spectrum of the liquid modified ethylenic random copolymer, signals of .alpha..beta. and .beta..gamma. based on the methylene chain between two adjacent tertiary carbon atoms in the main chain of the copolymer are not observed, (iii) the liquid modified ethylenic random copolymer has a number average molecular weight (Mn), measured by a vapor pressure osmometer, of 200 to 10,000, and (iv) where the liquid modified ethylenic random copolymer is the epoxidized product, each epoxy group therein is positioned at the polymer chain end of the liquid ethylenic random copolymer, and the content of the epoxy groups is 0.01 to 0.5 mole per 100 g of the liquid epoxidized ethylenic random copolymer, and where the liquid modified ethylenic random copolymer is the hydroxylated product, each hydroxyl group therein is bonded to a carbon atom derived from ethylene or the alpha-olefin and positioned at the polymer chain end of the liquid ethylenic random copolymer, and the contents of the hydroxyl groups is 0.01 to 1 mole per 100 g of the liquid hydroxylated ethylenic random copolymer. Also provided are a lubricant oil additive and a paint additive each being composed of the above liquid modified ethylenic random copolymer.
