    • A water-soluble substrate and an oily substrate are continuously reacted with immobilized lipase in a reaction vessel having vertically maintained apart upper and lower conically-shaped regions, respectively, for separation of a water-soluble product and an oily product, a plurality of lipase reaction zones each containing immobilized lipase capable of being fluidized and an agitating means, and a plurality of intermediate separation zones for separation of an oily substance and a water-soluble substance. The lipase reaction zones and the intermediate separation zones are disposed alternately between the upper and lower conically-shaped separation regions. Boundaries between the lipase reaction zones and intermediate separation zones are pervious to liquid but impervious to the immobilized lipase. The water-soluble substrate and oily substrate are passed in counterflow contact through the lipase reaction zones and intermediate separation zones and mutually contact the immobilized lipase which has been fluidized. An oily product is recovered from the upper conically-shaped separation region and a water-soluble product is recovered from the lower conically-shaped separation region.

    • A musical tone generation control apparatus provides at least one holding device (such as a grip device) having a shape which can be easily held by one hand of a person. This holding device further provides plural pressure sensors each capable of sensing a depression-pressure applied thereto, wherein these pressure sensors are arranged such that each pressure sensor can be easily touched and depressed by each finger of the hand of person. In addition, an angle detector can be provided in order to detect a bending angle at a joint portion of the person. Based on the combination of sensed depression-pressure and detected bending angle, musical tone control data for controlling an externally-provided musical tone generating apparatus is generated. This musical tone control data is used for controlling a key-on timing, a tone color, a tone pitch or other attributes of the musical tone.

    • A waveshape memory stores a full waveshape of a tone from the start to the end of sounding of the tone or a portion thereof in plural periods. A tone wave signal produced by reading this waveshape memory is applied to a tone color circuit where its tone color is changed. The tone wave signal whose tone color has been changed and the tone wave signal whose tone color has not been changed are both multiplied with respective coefficients whereby these tone wave signals are weighted. The weighted tone wave signals are added together to provide a mixed tone signal. By controlling the coefficients, the tone color imparted on the mixed signal is variously determined. The coefficients for the tone color control are provided in accordance with key scaling, key touch or operation states of control knobs. Thus tone signals exhibiting a variety of tone color changes are obtained using not so many wave memories.

    • A finger switch is mounted at a player's finger so as to detect bending and stretching actions of a player's finger. Such finger switch at least consists of a thin plate made of plastic materials which is mounted on the back of the player's finger, a push button mounted on the thin plate near a center portion of the player's finger and a movable member which can be moved along the thin plate in response to the bending and stretching actions of the player's finger. When the player bends his finger, the movable member is moved toward the push button so that the push button will be pushed by the movable member. By mounting a plurality of such finger switches on the fingers of the player, a musical scale or a tone pitch of a musical tone to be generated can be controlled based on a combination of on/off states of the push buttons.

    • A path memory control method in a Viterbi decoder outputs, when a plurality of decoding steps are required to trace back to a final stage of a surviving path, the same number of decoded data as that of the decoding steps required for trace-back, thereby determining the decoded data. During trace-back, state transition information throughout a plurality of times can be combined with each other, and the final stage of the surviving path can be traced back by jumping back a plurality of stages, at a time, by reducing the number of memory access, thereby realizing high-speed decoding.
