The generation member 14 is formed, in such a way that a cross-shaped through hole is bored and formed in a light-shielding mask plate. When the generation member is inserted in the optical path, a cross-shaped optical pattern is formed on a screen 18 by a luminous flux, which has passed the through hole. The posture of the face 2a to be inspected is adjusted, in such a way that the position of the cross-shaped optical pattern formed of the luminous flux of reference light B coincides with the position of a cross-shaped optical pattern formed of measuring light C. Thereby, the face 2a to be inspected can be aligned and adjusted.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system for a grazing incidence interferometer and a device using the same wherein a luminous flux diameter deviation expanding optical system consisting of a prism and after a parallel bundle of rays is expanded in a predetermined direction, a part thereof as a measuring light is obliquely incident on a surface to be inspected, thereby improving a light utilization factor and to achieve the lightweight and small system by reducing a collimator lens in size and the focal distance thereof in length. SOLUTION: As the parallel bundle of rays from the collimator lens 14 is obliquely incident on a light beam diameter adjustment prism 25, the bundle of rays is expanded only in a predetermined direction. A part of the bundle of rays is used as a measuring light and is obliquely incident on the surface 2a to be inspected in such a manner that the expanded direction is perpendicular to a plane (a plane extending in a direction Y of the surface to be inspected) including a central beam of the incident light beam to the surface to be inspected and a central beam of the reflected light beam. The measuring light reflected by the surface 2a to be inspected is synthesized with a reference light to create the interference between them. An image of an interference fringe is projected on a screen section 18 by the synthetic light and the interference fringe is observed by using a TV camera 20.
