    • In a mold for pressing an electric-wire clamping portion of a terminal, a lower side-wall mold part and an upper side-wall mold part are provided for pressing side walls connected to the electric-wire clamping portion. A pressure face substantially continuously connected to a pressure face of an upper conductor mold part is provided on one end side of the upper side-wall mold part. A taper face is provided on the other end side of the upper side-wall mold part so as to be enlarged toward the other end. Accordingly, side walls pressed between the lower side-wall mold part and the upper side-wall mold part are deformed so that the quantity of deformation at one end is near the quantity of compressive deformation of the electric-wire clamping portion and so that the quantity of deformation is reduced gradually toward the other end side. Thus, local stress concentration is not caused in the side walls so that cracks are prevented from occurring in the side walls.

    • A terminal pressure welding device and method are provided. In this improved device and method, a pair of wires are pushed into a space between a pair of barrels by a wire holding member, and the pair of barrels are caulked by lapping one of them on the other by a crimper. At the start of the barrel caulking by the crimper, the wires are fixed to a position between the pair of the barrels by the wire holding member 16, so that an ingress allowance space is ensured for allowing the edge of one of the barrels to get under the other barrel. With this device and method, a terminal can be pressure welded onto even two thick wires as desired, and the pressure welding widths of terminals can be as uniform as possible so that the terminals can surely be inserted into the terminal receiving chambers of a connector.

    • A weft sensor for a loom which can detect the presence or absence of a weft inserted into a warp shed at an acceptable moderate sensitivity on the basis of the majority decision of weft detection signals. When sensor sensitivity is too high, the weft sensor erroneously detects the fluff attached to the sensor as the presence of a weft, thus keeping the loom operated continuously. This erroneous detection reduces the quality of woven cloth. On the other hand, when sensor sensitivity is too low, the weft sensor erroneously detects a slender weft as the absence of a weft, thus keeping the loom stopped unnecessarily. This erroneous detection reduces the duty cycle of the loom. The weft sensor according to the present invention comprises a plurality of weft detectors and a majority decision circuit made up of a plurality of logical circuit elements such as AND, OR, NAND gates, etc.

    • A connector housing has a body portion and a hood portion. An insertion detecting member for terminal lugs is movable from provisional locking position to full locking position inside the hood portion. A resilient, terminal-lug locking piece extends in each terminal accommodating cavity in the housing body portion to form a displacement permitting space on a side opposite a side where a terminal lug is inserted. The insertion detecting member has a main frame, insertion detectors corresponding to the displacement permitting spaces, and a pair of manipulating portions at opposite sides of the main frame. When in provisional locking position the manipulating portions are exposed at opposite sides of the housing body portion, and when in full locking position the insertion detectors move into the displacement permitting spaces. The insertion detecting member is easily movable from provisional locking position to full locking position inside the housing hood portion.

    • A weaving machine is combined with a stop control means. A warp feeler, a weft feeler or a manual stop switch produces a stop signal and sends it to the control means. A comparator compares a crank angle sensed by a crank angle sensor with a preset angle supplied by a preset angle supplier, and produces a position signal at the preset angle. If the control means receives the stop signal during a normal weaving operation, then the control means stops the weaving machines immediately regardless of the crank angle by sending an output signal to a brake system of the weaving machine. After that, the control means starts the weaving machine moving at a slow speed, and stops this slow speed movement when the comparator produces the position signal at the preset angle.
