The invention relates to a level sensor for a motor vehicle, comprising a housing (1), a rotor (2) which is rotatably mounted on the housing (1), a printed circuit board (3) which is enclosed by the housing (1) and comprises at least one stator, and a plug (4) which can be attached to an opening (7) in the housing (1) and, in the process, closes the opening (7). The printed circuit board (3) and electronic components are intended to be securely protected against environmental influences in a simple and permanent manner. In the process, the level sensor should be produced to be at least less complicated than the known sensors. This is achieved by the housing (1) having a chamber (5) for accommodating the printed circuit board (3) and the opening (7) being associated with the chamber (5), wherein the chamber (5) is closed on all sides with the exception of the opening (7), and wherein the printed circuit board (3) can be pushed into the chamber (5) and can be positioned in said chamber in the manner of a drawer.
