PURPOSE: A method for controlling shift of automatic transmission in a vehicle is provided to allow rapid gear shift. CONSTITUTION: Whether the operation of a shift lever is a manual mode or not is confirmed(S1). The opening value and output RPM value of a throttle valve are stored(S2). Whether the opening value and output RPM value of the throttle valve are distributed within a constant area of the shift line of a sport mode is confirmed(S2,S3,S4). The actual operation shift timing point of the shift lever is reflected to the shift line of a sport mode.
