웨이퍼 얼라인 장치 및 웨이퍼 얼라인 방법이 개시되어 있다. 웨이퍼 척 상에 웨이퍼를 로딩한다. 상기 로딩된 웨이퍼의 플랫존을 센싱할 수 있도록 센싱 감도를 조절한다. 상기 웨이퍼 가장자리에서 일부 차단되거나 통과된 광을 수광하여 상기 로딩된 웨이퍼의 플랫존을 센싱한다. 상기 센싱된 플랫존의 위치를 기준으로 상기 웨이퍼가 원하는 오리엔트 각도에 위치시키기 위한 웨이퍼 척의 회전각을 계산한다. 이어서, 상기 웨이퍼 척을 상기 회전각만큼 수평 회전시킨 후 정지시킴으로서 웨이퍼를 원하는 위치에 얼라인한다. 따라서, 수회에 걸쳐 회전하지 않더라도 상기 웨이퍼를 원하는 오리엔트 각을 갖도록 얼라인할 수 있다.
